I frequently lurk around Trade Zones looking for good deals or interesting items to buy. Needless to say I'm a bit of a shopaholic tongue.gif

Anyway, I notice that most people compose their own sales pitch and need some help with their English (spelling or grammar). I'm not trying to insult anyone, far from it as my England is nowhere near perfect but I just thought maybe if you needed some help, I don't mind assisting. I'm not charging anything, this is free. Maybe English isn't important in selling your item as most people here understand what you're talking about anyway but if you're unsure of your English, I don't mind helping.

I will not compose a whole new sales pitch for you but if you have one up and want me to take a look at your thread, just PM me. And this offer is only to sales threads here on LYN, not your own website or anywhere else. I'm really not gaining anything here, just want to help make this forum a better place! And again, I'm NOT trying to insult anyone but apologies in advance if I have!

(Mods, not sure if this is the right place to post this, please move it if need be. Thanks!)

Yeah, that's so true! I don't really think any sellers are gonna bother with their English and I don't blame them really but offer still stands just in case!

Plain and simple English is what I'm talking about. I'm not going to turn their opening post into some fancy shmancy super duper sales pitch.

A little bit of broken English is fine as in grammatical, hey even me writes broken English too. But sometimes, their English is totally cannot be understood and with mixture of multi-languages. doh.gif
I wonder if their schools teach them proper English at the first place?

Rojak language is malaysian unique trademark. Most probably those pariah English came from chinese illiterate. Hold on! I'm chinese! I'm just stating the fact lol.

I suppose LYN is an English forum but I see a lot of sellers, especially in Stuffs for Ladies type in chinese words. I thought this is not allowed in LYN?

Back to the topic, some broken English is ok, sometimes we do mistakes too. However, I've seen some English which I couldn't understand at all. For example, direct translation from Babelfish. doh.gif

If somebody offers you help (and for free too) to write proper English I think it is commendable. Hat's off to you TS. While many find it acceptable for traders to advertise with a 'so-so' English, it would be nice if they can improve on it. It is a 'sight for sore eyes' when you see broken English and numerous misspellings in their posts. I feel like reading messages from ET when reading them.

It doesn't matter whether it is proper English or not, it's not a problem as long as people could understand. smile.gif

No doubt it's common and perfectly acceptable to use broken English in LYN, but hey, if you'd prefer your sales pitch in grammatically correct English, some would say,"Why not?"

Imzadi's just offering to help, if anyone wants it, not discuss whether it's appropriate or not to use broken English here in LYN.
