OK, Leonard Cohen was the original singer of this one, and Rufus Wainwright & Jeff Buckley have also covered it beautifully, but Damien's version is not too bad either.

Sigh... has no one ever heard of Damien Rice?

QUOTE(air_mood @ Apr 11 2008, 01:31 AM) Not that big of a fan of 9 Crimes. Off that album, my favourite is Accidental babies, Elephants a.k.a. Blower's Daughter Part 2 and Grey Room. The Blower's Daughter off O is my all time favourite though from him. Ironically, I started listening to Damien Rice when I read an article on how Rooney was listening to Damien Rice on his spare time. Raised my curiosity and gave it a listen, got hooked on it. OMG, that was the exact same reason I started on Damien Rice too!Heard Blower's Daughter on the movie Closer first but never figured out who sang it until I was on a long-distance flight, saw the CD and voila! Instant fan. "9" is a bit too dry for me, Elephant, 9 Crimes and Rootless Tree (o the angst!) being the best songs in it. |
