dude chill,

i start out from scratch from here too you know. if you showed them
good attitude they wouldn't mind posting some comments for you.
at least try to google for good composition tips, your photos are only
mere snap shots, nothing special IMHO. you need to improvise some
composition techniques such as the rule of third. try shoot interesting
subject. landscape, abstract or whatever suits you. smile.gif

if you're really serious about photography, you'd probably need a lot
of reading and references.

you are not the only one who's new to photography around here.
so its kinda gets repetitive to give out the same thing all over again.
hope this helps smile.gif keep it up.

moving this back to photography.

camera phone obviously is not competent enough even if compare to digicam. however, it is still a camera if you know how to use it and definitely deserves a place in photography. a great skilled photography anytime can win someone heart with their camera phone's photo compare to a no talent DSLR user.

anyhow, we also have gallery for cameraphone here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/541928

that was what i thought when i first joined the photo gallery section..but my thread was closed in less than 2 hours..and my pics were still acceptable pics from a w800i biggrin.gif hope mods will ALL agree to allow cam phones in photogallery sections... we post in the photo gallery for one reason...which is to learn how to compose..why must we be put together with those snapshots in the cam phone gallery smile.gif just MO hope the mods could take into consideration

^ shots are too underexposed, you'll need to learn how to quick read the 5D's Exposure dial and do variance shooting. I see that your shutter is low and the pic is still dark so try to boost the ISO next time around.

There's an inbuilt AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) which makes life easier by producing 2 other shots with lower and higher exposures.

Let people buy what they want. I believe in buying first, practicing later lol and it has suited the way i shoot.

If the TS is comfortable with the 5D then so be it. I'm comfortable with it, it's chunk ass heavy with the grip and all, but still i feel better using it than with a 40D and i believe it contributes.

bro, he hardly understand the camera functions and yet you suggest him to do hdr? laugh.gif. rclxub.gif at softwares later on. Better idea give that 5d to me brows.gif.

On a serious note, ts you could learn more on photography on the web. Start searching with "photography beginners" or "photography tutorials" for instance. Among basics you should know are iso, aperture, shutter, exposure values and composition.

hdr not that hard la.. plug your cam to the tripod. shoot different exposures. use photomatix to stack the photos into 1, then tonemapping secukup rasa.

unless u'r talking about good hdrs, then that comes with creativity la.

MY advice is avoid using M for the time being coz u did not even know how to use it, which explains the shots here are poor. Try use P for beginners. I do recommend using Appeture priority for standstill subjects. wink.gif

why were you shooting at aperture F16? no wonder almost all your shots are blur. You should be using small F number insted of big f number when indoors. Using small f number will allow you to use higher shutter speed.

teddy i serously think you shoud go read up some articles on what are apertures and shutter speeds as they are what determines the end result of your photos... the stickied thread in the photography section has very good links...i learnt it all from there before i started using a SLR..

when using a SLR try out the aperture mode, shutter mode or the least use P mode... NEVER use scene mode smile.gif it is just a waste...

as i said earlier on...you can read up some articles on what they are...

Teddy , Not to harrasing you but you put DSLR user to the shame doh.gif
Looks like using PNS Camera to take photo but some PNS camera can do better than it.

Just my comment. smile.gif

Try to read some articles same with orenzai, learn how to use aperture value and shutter speed ?

Don't be afraid to use the green box or P mode. In fact, you can use it all the time and instantly get good picture while learning the basics. smile.gif

If u cant even know how to focus, i suggest u to keep ur dslr n move back to pns or go to a prosummer, like canon S5. Focusing is one of the essential skills for photography mate. wink.gif

so buckle up!!!!! Hope for more improvement frm u.

98 percent of all my beginner shots were OOF, and badly at that. I believe shooting crap is a learning process. I admit that 50 percent of my EOS5D shots are of my room, my ceiling fan and my toilet bowl, just for the sake of practice and coordination.

One thing Prosumers can never teach you effectively is the use of customized AF and MF, due to the controls, and the fact you're dealing with a much larger sensor and thus a large DOF.

TIP to TS : Learn to select the focus points individually and practice on small objects like pencils and stuff. Also learn to read the flashing red focus points, they generally tell you 2 things, the location of the focusing area, and the general plane of focus.
