Just want to share 1 of the photo i took during my Taiwan trip last 2 week. Even the photo didnt show significant landmark of Taiwan

I set my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens to the widest end, use Aperture priority, dial to f11 in order to get the shutter speed that low enough to capture the motion move effect while going down from escalator in Taipei MRT station. The ISO i used is 100 in order to reduce noise in dark area.

the top and bottom of the photo too empty, perhaps can cope it to panoramic.

OK, here is the setting in Camera and Photoshop RAW editor


Camera Setting:
Aperture: F14
Shutter Speed: 1/25s
ISO: 200
Focal Length: 90mm
File Type: RAW

Photoshop CS3 Camera RAW 4.5 setting:
Exposure = +1.30
Recovery = 50
Fill Light = 0
Blacks = 5
Brightness = +100
Contrast = +90
Clarity = 0
Vibrance = 0
Saturation = -10

extension tube is to increase the focus distance of your lens. (you will loose infinity focus)

tele converter is used to increase your lens focal length. (infinity focus still remained however you need to get the good tele converter if not the picture quality will degraded, like the photo in my flickr)

and you are right, combined with these 2 will allow you you to archive higher magnification which larger than life size (> 1:1)

both photo also cropped about 10-20% and adjusted the horizontal in order to get a better composition
