QUOTE(lwliam @ Apr 15 2008, 07:02 PM) your pic is not that great to say the least, look at the posterization around the top right... actually, its ALL OVER the image.. one word = over PPed When first introed to PP, most people get carried away in my view, it's ok i guess. I worked for over 2 years with nothing but MSPaint, then everyone complain i sark so i take up PP, but at the same time i take over my minimalist tendencies to PPing. His photo is pretty ok, much better than when i started out lah. Give em credit for that. You want over PPed. lol here have some of mine.

QUOTE(lwliam @ Apr 15 2008, 07:29 PM) empire23, truth be told, getting carried away in post processing is one thing, i fall for that old trick as well most of the time, you can make tonnes of layers and tweaks, but the main purpose is to make it barely noticable, so u ought to know when to stop. in your case of your so-called over pp-ed images, its hard to spot the proccessed parts (most noticable at edge/color transitions). Giving credit is one thing, flaming is another thing. CnCs are a norm after being posted into forums, that dude/dudette should live with it. You know what I mean right? Well, like i said lah, people get carried away because they think "WALAU WHE, I CAN DO LIKE PRO", it's a hard trap not to fall into. And some people tend to be defensive loh, you tell me my shots suck after i spending atleast a good 15k on this hobby and i'll bengang too. Not justifying the dude's rudeness. But i guess i'm just pointing out probable reason why he's not happy/ticked off.

QUOTE(Jim @ Apr 18 2008, 10:19 AM) Dude, nice colour, you using polarizer? what brand you use? Didn't use a Polarizer. Very little editing and generally just sharpened. Used the EF 50mm 1.2L to take the shot. For other pics of mine that use a polarizer, i use the B+W MRC KSM FPro Polarizer.

Very unfortunate that i find it hard to focus in the dark with bright sources. Blargh Astig. Taken on my way to Dominoes at Westridge. Decent nonetheless, done with MF.

Might be a tad bit on the blue side because i edited the photo according to my screen (which isn't calibrated), it looks much bluer on my uni LCDs. Noticable shake, since operating the cam with mitts was near impossible, had to expose hands to the cold...brrrr... This post has been edited by empire23: May 27 2008, 06:20 AM

Photobucket superior, atleast EXIF data is uploaded and available on all hosted itterations of the picture. Plus they have a pretty cool batch uploader.

Planning to enter BHP Billiton's Spirit of the Outback Photo competition. So far only 1 candidate. Maybe i'll drive deeper into it, because i just cheated with this one and drove a few KM out of town for it.

QUOTE(Aoshi_88 @ Jul 12 2008, 06:20 PM) Went for LYn ANimeShrine gathering today so i have some shots from the flea market at the Curve. Olympus E-500 f/5.4 1/80sec ISO-320 Did a quick compose for this one. Cropped it as parts were kind of distracting. Wanted to focus on the chefs. Kinda cute. The guy manning the store gave me some glances so i apologized even after asking if i could take a photo. LOL! LOL, now i'm gonna go out and get a bottle of Bundaberg. Their Gingerbeer always hits the spot after a wound up day. I did drive up to Bundaberg for a bit after going to Eumundi and Hervey Bay, but didn't spend as much time as i'd like due to time constraints.

QUOTE(Aoshi_88 @ Jul 12 2008, 06:34 PM) This one is also cropped in photoshop. Different store but same place, flea market outside Cineleisure. @empire23>> I've never been to Germany. Bundaberg is an Australian drink, brewed in the Town of Bundaberg, North of Hervey Bay along the Bruce Highway lah The bottle of drink is Bundaberg Root Beer.

QUOTE(thahirah @ Aug 2 2008, 02:16 AM) empire really nice picture !! i love that picture the expression of the face is something XD what aperture, iso, shutter? 1/200 shutter, F2.5, ISO 50. The shot is quite heavily cropped, but still retains alot of detail. That's the beauty of HR i guess.

QUOTE(bunvirus @ Aug 4 2008, 06:13 PM) xynthian n Maniac also no exif.. both picture nice already.. but cant see what setting they use.. secret ka? I can see it too. If you use opera just right click the picture and click properties. Reads the embedded EXIF instantly. That's why i hate flickr, it removes this embedded data.
