i don't get it, if it's darker, how would you highlight the eye on the shadow side of the face ? isn't that going to make the eye even darker?

oh ok, that explain, cause i don't really fancy PP. It just make the photo look fake as it is not how the natural form of picture is.

some dodging and burning is fine, but the photo u posted doesn't look a bit, but a lot

30mm will do for both. You can take 3/4 body on portrait and sort of wide enough for landscape. Portrait alone, 50mm will be a wiser choice.

it's pretty fine to have 20+ sec. since your subject is not moving

however, mine cannot have 20+ sec. as i need to freeze motion


you need more lights for that small of aperture or your shutter will have to be slower. U can achieve faster shutter by having higher ISO or more lights/flash. In my case i have use a flash.

I do agree with you that u should not be using f2.8 as I found macro to have shallow DOF due to it's long focal length (90mm/100mm). As such, I'll need smaller aperture like 7.1 and above to get my subject sharp.

I believe those are Chromatic Aberration. It's lens problem, but can be fix using adobe photoshop
