I still don't understand this ASB Loan.

Assuming that I take 20k loan for a period of 25 years, is it even worth doing so? Based on MBB's schedule, the repayment is RM124. So, how does the 3-year termination of the loan works in this case or does that only work for high loan amt? Can ajar sket? smile.gif

So kalau I terminate dalam tempoh 5 tahun, I akan dapat balik amount yang I dah bayar untuk 5 tahun tu, ke? Sorry la noob sket.

Noob question. If I am interested in ASB loan and only have budget RM200/mth, the loan amt I can take is about RM30k for tenure of 20 years (based on MBB schedule) and if let's say, I decide to terminate the loan at the 5th year mark, is it worth to take up this loan? Or am I better off just putting in RM200 into ASB monthly?

100% agree..loaner earn more because he start with 200k in his asb account while non loaner from 1200 as starter...compounding interest is fully utilize when u start big...they can earn more at the end of the maturity date...
Dun worry bro...start with little first is ok...if u r young make the max loan of 30 years with the afford amount u can and keep paying for atleast 5 years...after 5 years surrender your asb and use that money to pay for your whole year 200k asb loan....from here u just need to use the dividend money to pay for your loan....this is one of the easiest way and without to burden urself paying the high monthly commitment...but pls take note with this technique u wont be able to utilize the full benefit of compounding interest...but atleast u can earn more than 200k after 30 years...still a good amount for retirement right?

Pm me for futher intruction...i can help u to calculate the max loan amount u can apply

Tak paham bro.... on that part you said about using asb that I surrendered at Year 5 and paying for whole year 200k asb loan. u mean after I surrendered, I apply ASB loan 200k??

use malay ok?

1. contoh tuan mampu apply pinjaman 50 ribu utk 30 tahun (BANK PROFIT RATE 5.2%)

bulanan = RM275 (tanpa insuran)

jd tuan byr amaun RM275 secara konsisten selama 5 tahun

selepas 5 tahun tuan akan dpt compound interest = RM21,000

jumlah lebihan tuan dpt selepas surrender pinjaman = RM4,000

Jumlah keseluruhan = RM21,000 + RM4,000 = RM25,000
2. Selepas dapat amaun ni apply pinjaman ASB 200 ribu (BANK PROFIT RATE 5.2%)

bulanan = RM1100 (tanpa insurans)

total setahun RM1100 x 12 = RM13,200

With the ever rising living cost, people can still afford to make monthly payments of 1k and above for ASB loan?

I am asking on behalf of my next door neighbour akak who is not so tech savvy. Is it advisable to take ASB loan at 45yrs of age and with only RM500 extra fund per mth available for savings? She told me her ASB account already at 180k so I guess max loan can apply is 20k only right? Is it still worth applying loan? She got open ASB2 acct and already max 200k but $ in tht acct are not hers.. belongs to her sisters who tumpang her acct cos their own accounts apparently already penuh. At that time, she didnt think she will ever need ASB2 for herself as her ASB also not yet penuh. Now she said segan to ask her sisters to return the acct to her. Any advice for this akak on loan??😁

I was reading a letter sent by a reader to KC Lau's website. The guy said that he applied for 200k ASB loan and paid it off with his RM15k savings. How is that possible? Enlightened me please....

Just trying to understand this ASB Loan. Not everyone can ikat perut to pay 1k+ asb loan especially with the current high cost of living. Assuming that a person only can spare RM500 per month, what is the recommended feasible loan amount to take, loan ternure and at what point to terminate? Appreciate your advice.
