I found the 5k insurance premium on a $195k loan a bit too much.... is this usual? I'm in my late 20s not an old human....

At the time of my application I was 26 and it's been 3 years since. Loan tenure is 25 years. I can't seem to find my loan and insurance agreement now so not sure if there's a lock in period =/.

Planning to refinance with with a lower interest rate and get rid of that insurance. I don't find the insurance necessary since the bank can sell the sijil and get back their money in full.

The interest rate offered 3 years ago was 6.6% now they have reduced to 5+%.

If the usual range of the insurance premium price is 4.2k then my 5k is a lot =/...

Perhaps I should refinance with other banks without the insurance.

My monthly installment is $1,174.

It would be good if Maybank insurance is optional..

How long will it take to be disbursed into the asb account once loan is approved and signed? I have 1 bank who will take 1 month plus and another bank who promised just 2-3 weeks.

From my past experience with cimb,
Within a month after approval.

Sorry to say cant. You need to have a payslip or voucher payment at least. Without either one of this u cant apply for asbf. But u can use proxy to apply by using one of the member in your family who have a payslip to apply with u. Non fixed income will consider as a high risk for the bank.

If u insist can try to apply at maybank. I dunno if they still take person without fixed income anymore or not because before can. Keep in mind apply asbf with maybank, takaful is compulsory and only 25 years for asb 1.
