Just a question.
The limit for ASB is 200k units yeah?
And with the new ASB2 it's anothet 200k units.
Does this mean we can 400k of asb loan from the banks? So that's like 34k dividend every year ( if not compounded)

Wait, how did you know that the ASB2 return will be similar to ASB? It's a new fund and it hasn't even shown its first 5-year return yet.
*
Being optimistic. 😄
It's a mixed fund so I'm guessing the return will be different. How much difference we will have to wait for annual report.
But would it be worth putting something in?

Also i cant find this promotion on affin banks website? (BLR-2%)

Just to get full dividend on it. No issue if you taking now. I taking my first 100k asb loan few years back around Oct. Yet I still manage to get 2k+ dividend from it. Notbad.jpeg
btw, I suggest you to divide it into 100k + 100k. Easy for exit plan. smile.gif
*
I divided mine to 25k x 4
Planning on getting another 25k, and the rest of allowable allowance (200k) ill put cash.
And after maxing out the allowance, i plan to pay the 25k one by one.
Thats my strategy anyway.

Just sharing my opinion. If I were you, i'd take the full 200k on loan even if you have the cash. Always maximize the loan as research has proven (cari gold) that you earn more from the loan because you are leveraging OPM.

That cash in hand can be put elsewhere to generate even more income. eg Tabung Haji or other PNB funds or even down payment for a house which will appreciate in capital.

Make your money work for you! I myself am already on 400k loan with ASB and contemplating another 200k for ASB 2 for a total of 600k loan if budget permits!

IMO
*
I thought of that, but I wanted to have some commitment to other loans, like business or property. Finding other ways to earn higher than ASB. Diversifying and finding optimum investment with the resources in hand.

I want to ask,i have never applied for any ASB loan.

Which is better, should i mortgage my house and dump the cash into ASB

or  direct take ASB loan?
*
Id go for mortgage if your interest is lower than 5%.

Hi,

I would like to ask, if I have a sum of money example 30k.

Is it good to direct put all in ASB 30K or monthly basis like RM2500 per month for 12months.

Is there any different in term of the return for lump sum or monthly?

I know its not related to ASB loan.
*
Probably put all if u wna maximize the return. The dividend is calculated on the lowest amount in your account for the month. So if you add 2500 for first month, it will only consider that 2500. The following month u add another 2500 and it will consider 2500+2500=5000. But be aware that if you put 2500 on the first/second/third/etc day of the month, i dont think theyll include it cause theyve taken the lowest amount on that month(once the month started, the first day). Someone might need to correct this if im wrong.
If you put all 30k, it will calculate based on 30k till you take it out.

Some took the asb loan had cancelled it as the dividend cannot sustain the interest of asb loan. Hmmm ? Anyone hear this ?
*
Probably because they dont understand why its higher n didnt consider long term outlook. Banks ir is 4.8-5.2, while asb is 7.5++. Yearly repayment is higher than dividend when u have high takaful n/or short asb loan period.

Does anyone knows if ASBF amount will be shown on myASNB portal or not.
Previously, in the blue passbook, you wont see it, only the dividend once a year.

For example, if I have 10K in ASB and I took 100K ASBF, will myASNB portal only shows 10K or 110K with the ASBF cert.

Thanks.
*
Yeap. Youll see your cash and finance. Also the total on both.

Refer the certificate/loan column.

Hi guys, wanted to ask

How long will it take to be disbursed into the asb account once loan is approved and signed? I have 1 bank who will take 1 month plus and another bank who promised just 2-3 weeks.
*
From my past experience with cimb,
Within a month after approval.

On a side note, is asb2 loan still available?

Guys, lets say i take out an amount, i.e. RM10,000.00.
And two days after I buy again the same amount. Would I loose the dividend on this transaction for the month? I know that they consider the lowest amount in the account for the month, but do they consider it as daily within a month, or monthly wholesome?

Yes you will lose the dividend for that month. The lowest amount in the account for the month means must be in the account for the full month.

Ohhh.. ok thanks
The struggle of playing with multiple asb loans and cash is real..

Yea minimal. Optimising it is a struggle with my scenario. I got certs of 25k x 3, 70k x 1, and 30k x 1. With some amount of cash. Im currently applying for a lower rate loan. Some requirement need to be met to get that lower rate. I need to take out my cash. And terminate a few certs. Also need to consider opportunity costs, i.e. the dividend loss. Trying to optimize the task atm. Time consuming too as i need to ular from the office.

QUOTE(junclj @ Dec 20 2017, 05:22 PM)
hi guys, I need you guys to confirm about whether my calculation is correct?
I have both ASB and ASB2 but I can't touch my ASB because is under loan basis and already reached to 200k maximum limit.

So I have decide to put the rest money to ASB2. I'm deciding to transfer fund to ASB2 as saving basis then withdraw RM6,000 once for every two years to buy a new iPhone.

My saving plan is save RM2,000 in Feb, Oct and Dec for every year. For the year I decide to buy iPhone, I will not save RM2,000 in Oct and Dec but only withdraw RM6,000 out from my ASB2 to buy new iPhone. I will only save RM2,000 once at Feb in next year after I was purchased my new iPhone.

I was started my plan this year and deciding to save my money until October 2020 to begin my iPhone plan (time before new iPhone launch in Malaysia).

Currently I am using iPhone 7 Plus which was bought at last year and I may not decide to replace new iPhone at the moment but only to wait until year 2020.

Anybody can check whether my calculation is correct? The dividend rate is based on my estimation.

Guys,
How long does it normally take for the bank to send the termination letter?
It has been a month++ , my ccris has already registered that there is no more outstanding from the terminated certs. But I've yet to receive the termination letter.

Re-applying and the other bank wants the termination letter. geez...

What if im living overseas, and i wish to sell some of the share when im there? In no way i could come to the branch.
