good luck mate.

just had a quick look at one of the stocks i'm holding, bought them at $1.20/share and now they're $0.20 (lost 83%) biggrin.gif

I'm not cut out for this  doh.gif

I'll stick on course with 'safe' bets like ASNB & EPF..though now I may have to add a couple more years of working which is fine.

Already mentioned.. but need to clarify with your agent/bank though
We'll see after moratorium ended

Seems like fixed rate car loan got 6 months extension of tenure (as expected) but fixed rate personal loan does not. Wonder why. These two loans are from the same bank.

some banks promote their PF as fixed rates, but are in actuality based on variable rates. For example, Bank Islam. Do check your LO and update here, could be an interesting case study
*
It's Fixed rate. It was approved almost 9 years ago though.

I think this only applies for hire purchase loans and fixed rate loans right? Not ASBF
*
Yes. But a U-turn nonetheless.

Sorry fixed loan rate applies to which products? Personal loan only ?
So asbf not effected?
*
ASBF is a variable rate loan. So basically it doesn't concern us.

I agree with you, an alternative portfolio would be to directly invest in the stock market, but only do it if you really know what you are doing.

Btw, I have something to say about the OPR cut and its effect on new loans

Lower OPR doesn't mean cheaper financing for all

they may actually be launching the financing again for ASB2F because they want to explore the new overseas market.

I have all of you (my current clients) on my broadcast list, just make sure you have added me into your contact lists, because I can't send any broadcast to those who do not have me in their contact list

What is your contact so i can add you to my contact list.

It is stated in my signature and under my avatar

Do say hi on whatsap so I can add you; i cant broadcast to those I have not saved in my list too. name and company-name OR place of abode would help identifying you guys too. Like there are so many Hafiz. So I would just add identifiers like Hafiz (Petronas) and Hafiz (CGG Veritas), etc.

I have my staff group and label you guys too, many have more than one labels, because they take multiple products

You are correct. There is a window to do it, but those who had their financing at BR + 1.00% is now smiling from ear to ear while the new applicants are facing BR + 1.25% and perhaps higher now that bank is updating their spread

Which bank is this?

Update on rates.
My ASB loan rate just got lowered from 4.35% to 3.85%. Was initially 4.85% when I applied last Nov.
I wonder if anyone is getting 3.75% or lower.
However, it's under moratorium anyway, which makes cashflow even better for now.

I don't know when the rates went down for everyone else, for me it was just in the last couple of days.
*
The lowest would be 3.60% in today's term, which i missed.

Currently, starting from 1 July - 31 July, ASNB is having a promo for the registration of Hibah Amanah. Hibah Amanah is sort of penama for your money in the ASNB funds.

Normal registration fee is RM 180. Now only just RM 50.

For more info: https://www.asnb.com.my/hapapromo.php
*
Is this RM50 a one time cost or there are other costs?

One time cost. But any ammendment will cost you another rm30
*
I've checked. It's RM10 per year plus ~2.5K for 200K money in the account. It's a daylight robbery if you ask me. It's just a "penama" for crying out loud. Why must they charge you thousands?

I have no comment about the charges..

Just to point out that "Penama" is wasi that will distribute the money according to consensus or faraid. Like "Penama" in EPF & TH.

Different than this Hibah service by ASNB/ARB the money will be given directly to the namelist. Just like Hibah Takaful. It will not be included for faraid..
*
Whatever the Arabic terms they want to use, it is still just about distributing your money. How hard can it be? It's not like they insured you or anything that make it worth paying such a high price. It's a classic example daylight robbery. Plain and simple.

Hi, saw tiger bank offering up to 105% loan, what does this means? If apply 200k then means get 210k? Also, if it's possible to withdraw and save any amount as long before end of year/where they calculate your dividen?
*
This 105% has been going on for ages. Not a new thing.

It's part of the financial assistance package. They have a few packages and it depends on how much of a paycut you got or if you've lost your job. One of it is pay only the interest for 12months, thereafter pay new instalment with tenure extended.
*
Extended? You mean beyond 65 yo?

This is actually inaccurate. Stock market rebounded quite sharply after March. Most of UT are even returning double digits % now.

Might be a different story for funds that heavily invested in bonds. As BNM keeps slashing OPR.
*
Well, you still need to offset the loss incurred earlier with that positive return.

Oh, by the way, the interest rate for existing bonds will not be affected by the changes in OPR.

Looks like EPF has beaten ASB return for the first time ever.. might be better to forget about ASB3 and invest through EPF instead, they're doing great job

How can we actually do that?
