So... after a long time of getting things done, here it is. I decided to skip painting. Don't have the time to do that at the moment.

So... Upgrades.

@RahXeph0n, i guess ur casing must be full with CM silent fan, so i doubt it wont be so noisy for ur casing ryte???
*
Yeah. It's quiet. thumbup.gif But of course, when I'm playing games my GTS will throttle the fan up, and that's quite noisy, but won't notice it over the game sounds. I think I'll have to shift the CPU from my desk to the floor though. The sheer number of fans is casuing some slight vibrations, and it's a bit anoying on the desk.

QUOTE
RahXeph0n, good work there........ nothing wrong with the ide though, i like it some how hehe............

may be time to add more bling bling stuff to ur casing ?? and 1 more fan for ur hyper tx would be a good idea

Hehe, thanks. I don't know what fan to use for the 2nd fan in the hyper212. The fans I already have run at a lower CFM than the hyper 212 fan, so I don't think I should use them. The "pull" should be higher CFM than the "push" if I'm not wrong.

Hmmm hmm.gif

Is your ram running in dual channel? Colour combo doesn't look right. Anyway, good work. I don't think I'll dare paint my case. not for a long time. haha! tongue.gif

Yes i agree  thumbup.gif , for this MSI mobo the manual stated for dual channel, put in Slot 1 & 2. Not green n green, or the orange.

Never needed one for the longest time already, so no. Haha! So ugly and unreliable biggrin.gif Nowadays most mobo's can boot from usb drives anyway. Floppy is very obsolete.

RahXeph0n can isee back of ur Casing? i know u put all ur PSU cable behind it..i want see how u keep le..hehe can let us review?...Under the CM690 that transparent Fans is 140mm?
*
the fan is 12 cm only ( =
Here is the back. Extreme ugliness... Had no choice but to use tape to hold the cable in place while I slid the cover closed.

user posted image
The hidden back. Ugly!

user posted image
The top half of mobo tray. See the snaking cable to the top on top of the fan, that's for the 4pin mobo atx. lol. That's a real stretch. I also used the same mosfet rail to power the top and 80mm fan, as well as my DVD rom, quite a stretch as well that, and will be hard to remove in the future ( =

user posted image
The lower half of mobo tray. Very gongested here. Had to use tap to ensure the cables don't overlap each other, ebcause if they do at the wrong places, i can't close the case doh.gif

user posted image
Stuffed two rails in there for my sata HDDs, and the power switch cables, but not enough space to stuff the mosfets for the front and bottom fan connectors, so that's why it's just snaking along on top.

user posted image
The HDD bay is a real mess. The rigidness of the sata power rail forced me to use two rails for 3 hdd, instead of only one. Couldn't bent one to power all three AND close the casing. Result; extreme mess.

user posted image
Front and bottom fan connectors are stuffed and hidden in the front.

user posted image
Ahh, my pride and joy. Was really difficult getting the 4pin atx cable to snake all the way here, but it was a nice fit. ngam ngam. thumbup.gif

*
blink.gif Already fit in already ( = juuuust nice only. It would have been much easier if the hyper 212 is not htere, but the cooler must be fixed to mobo before mounting on mobo tray, so no choice.

Wah RahXeph0n, you really utilize all the casing fan slot thumbup.gif .  So total 10 fans in your pc (1 front, 1 rear, 2 top, 1 cpu, 1 at the back, 1 gc, 1 chipset, 1 bottom and 1 cover) right?. Where did you buy the small fan at the back?

So far, I only use cap ayam fan. So my pc give so much noise. Even my cpu fan (stock) is noisy mostly when watching divx movie. May be I need to buy silent fan next time.
*
The 80mm fan surprisingly came with the casing. Casing had 4 fans. transparent side panel (120mm), rear exhaust (120mm), front intake (120mm led) and behind mobo tray (80mm)

I bought one cm silent LED fan, and a box of regular CM silent fans (RM45 for 4 fans at LYP)

*
You'd be surprised. One shop was selling 4 fans for 65. Then I looked around a bit, and saw another shop for 45. Exactly the same item... It's called a CM economy pack or soemthing like that. The fans don't have 3-pin to molex connectors though.

Woot, rm65 gosh, cut throat ah . . . rm45 is very good deal but no molex izzit, then how u connect power? Mobo?
Haha, as all the fans that come with the casing had molex to 3 pin connectors, I only needed two connectors for my top 2 fans, so my lower fan and rear exhaust I connect to mobo, and use their molex to 3 pin connectors for the top 2 fans.

4 units of CM 120mm fans for RM45?! Which shop sells that? I'd like to get some for myself too sad.gif

Got them from ohmy.gif Thundermatch blush.gif

I guess that place doesn't have a really good reputation, but fans work, they are silent. Like I said though, they don't come with 3pin to molex connectors.

590[(W) 210 x (H) 440 x (D)510 mm] smaller than
690[((W)213 X (H)482 x (D)524.5 mm] by a bit.

1 fan slot lesser.
Top panel no mesh.
CM690 certified nVIDIA SLI.
*
The lesser fan slot being the bottom intake, which i find very very useful in cooling down the GPU.

The 590 has one advantage :
4-in-3 device module

If you want to consider it an advantage. You can move your hdd's higher up for better air intake for the front lower fan. A high end graphic card would really beg for the depth of the 690 though.

Generic reply:

I bought my CM690 from Yeahstore.com for RM220 with sidepanel. Place your order, choose to pay when yo collect, and when your shipment has arrived they will contact you personally, then just have to go to IMBI and pick it up yourself. Cheap, easy. ( =

Yeah, One of the plus poitns of the CM690 for me is the nciely designed sidepanel, that works really well with my Hyper 212 also. The side fan is functional to bring in cool air for my NB and my GC card

Uhmm.. just to answer the question. The entire front mesh of the CM690 is filtered (lower with a dust filter, upper decks with sponge type) and the bottom intake is as well. What does that mean? Every intake is filtered, EXCEPT the side intake fan. remember, the top, back and side 80mm fans are all exhaust fans. You do NOT need a filter in the exhaust, unless you plan to trap dust IN the casing. LOL. Even though the side fan is not filtered (my casing comes with transparent side panel), it also has a very fine wire mesh which traps dust quite effectively as well. every few days i can just wipe off the dust accumulating there. However, as said earlier, so matter what, dust will still get in some how. ( =

Haha, Hi Sib. ^__^

The new batches of CM690 (the one i bought at least) comes with 4 fans. 1 for side panel, 1 for front intake, 1 for back exhaust and 1 behind the mobo.
