Hi jz started using paypal to do online purchase recently.
1. May i know why is the paypal US currency is so high, USD1=RM3.7 whereas the actual exchange rate is only ard RM2.5 now adays?
2. Why there are some users manage to sell their paypal USD at a lower rate, i.e. ard RM3.5. How do they do that? How does it work?
3. How to make business/save money by playing around with the currency exchange on paypal?
Thanks.

QUOTE(bafukie @ Apr 5 2008, 07:53 PM) Im using PB credit card to do my paypal transaction. Yes, they will automatically convert for u. The rate of conversion depends on market but definitely be lower than wat u can get from money changer. In my case, i used paypal yesterday. It immediately converted into RM when i made the transaction. The rate i got was RM3.7=USD1. The rate is more expensive than doing the exchange cause just checked RM3.62. How ar? I would also like to know how to buy the paypal credit at a lower rate to save money. As i saw many of our lawyaties selling paypal credit at a lower rate. Wondering how to save money. USD/RM is 3.60 right now, where got 2.5? Ten years plus ago, before 1997 crisis, USD/RM indeed was 2.50. Oh u were right. Hehe din notice i asked such a stupid question. Tot the crisis would made the USD lower as i remember it did effect just like Pound and Euro were effected. This post has been edited by andyfriends: Jan 17 2009, 12:04 PM

QUOTE(prasys @ Jan 17 2009, 10:02 AM) Welcome to 1997 ! You're in the year 2009 right now 1.00 USD = 3.56350 MYR As of today http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi2. Usually they make money by selling stuff over at eBay or they have their own internal connections. Then they sell these funds at a lower price. For them , its still profit. Money makes money for them 3. Well sell stuff over at eBay and then sell PayPal currency here. Thats how some forumers earn $$$$ Thanks for the reply. 1. I did a transaction on Friday and it was something like 3.7. Is it true that the paypal exchange rate is lower than the money changer? As i realise even the rate offered by them on fri is still lower than paypal. 2. So apart from selling or internal connection, there is no way that we individual could get Paypal credit at a lower rate? Thanks

QUOTE(prasys @ Jan 18 2009, 12:00 PM) 2. No way. You need to have internal connections. This is why I don't trust people who are selling paypal funds , unless they have a good record and a long time account (i.e from 2004-2005). Otherwise I'll be not buying funds from them can i assume that in such event, you rather pay a bit more expensive to make the payment directly? What is 1.08? As this was charged into my transaction, say example, 1000Yuan * 1.08. Thanks,
