Well, i'm using debit card,

normally, it always pre charge with global rate,

of coz 2 days later, final charge will be more than that , to bank or paypal, (i.e if 1USD = 3.295 = RM3.30 (current global rate, 2 days later, final payment thru will be RM 3.9 or more) <-- the extras to bank or paypal
just the last purchase i made on May 27, it charges with more 0.1 than global exchange rate, means after the final charge, even more and expensive

all the purchase I made before, pre charge surely follow the current global exchange rate, and 2 days later, final charge will be more expensive than the first charge,

just last friday I made a USD 7.5 purchase, global rate was 3.295 (should be RM24.71 , but my pre charge was RM 25.44, around 3.392 rate)

2 days later... it charges again even more expensive than 25.44

just wondering, why only the last payment pre charge higher than usual

I always follow the currency rate on xe.com for reference as first pre-charge, any other extras should be charged on final charge.

well, I didn't use my debit card to purchase online directly, just don't feel like to expose any of my info to the merchants, not because I don't trust them, just want to reduce the risk as much as possible, so go on paypal for paying a little bit extra on charges,

I've been using paypal for a year, only the last purchase charge is different doh.gif

did you change the charging option?

coz mine always the latest rate

if you use paypal to charge RM to ur credit card the rate is very expensive

like current rate 3.3 they will convert using rate 3.4 or 3.5 to RM into ur credit card

if you change the option to have paypal to charge U$D to your credit card, the bank will do the conversion
bank forex conversion is cheaper than paypal

The answers can all be found in Paypal FAQ as well as in the dedicated Paypal thread in this board.

By the way, both CIMB Bank and Maybank are supported. Money transfer into either bank's account is free if the total amount to be transferred is at least RMxxx.

just link your visa debit card on paypal.
then you can pay using paypal.
they automatically charge on your account.
