No hard feeling, psp boy. Why PS3 as the BDP for a grand setup like this? Wouldn't be a bit like suddenly 'underdog' as compared to the other expensive kits?  sweat.gif

btw, where did you got the Snell speakers?
*
bro, PS3 is the BD player of choice for high end custom installers in US (i.e. over 100k US)..it's that good.. rclxms.gif

I can tell you there ARE Malaysians who have AV/Hifi equipment worth megabucks. They're just who keep low profile and don't flaunt their equipment on the internet for the whole world to see.
Anyway, congrats to the topic starter on his very fine and dream come true setup. Its wonderful to see the passion put into it.  rclxms.gif

eh.. nothing wrong with sharing elite equipment photos or setup la.. megabucks equipment 2years ago (say like USD10k 720p projectors) can also mean only mid range performance now in 08.. sharing it in the internet, nothing wrong with that, after all we are discussing how to improve our AV setup etc... and besides, all it's still reasonably priced hobby with low tax (compared to cars here..)

this elite fella is using the latest setup in projector choice and image processing/anamorphic lens/curved 2.35 screen etc similar to those found in upper range equipments used by AVS forumers.... kudos to thread starter for sharing your setup.

A Curve screen smoothens the light to all corners thus having a wide viewing angle. Other than that it reduces pincushion effect. It also has that wow factor.
*
or simply, so that all the light will reach the screen same distance from the point source (i.e. projector lens) ... reduce the reliance on digital processing to adjust the pin cushion deformities... which may reduce image quality.

wow! nice setup there you got. only thing spoiled is the throw cushions. have to get better ones la to match the expensive leather seats.  sweat.gif  thumbup.gif  notworthy.gif

DIDiKL, your own HT room already groomed for this kind of setup, just need to fill up with around 80k AV equipment can liao.. support! rclxms.gif

Even though the stretching gives a nice cinematic look, I'm not sure if I can accept everybody suddenly becoming gemuk dan pendek. Just compare Will Smith's face in these 2 pics and you'll see what I mean.

LOL, gemuk Will smith.... biggrin.gif maybe he put on a few kilos..

anyway, have to match screen ratio with movie ratio lor..

that's what the motorized masking 1.85-2.35 screen curtain is for.. (PSP boy's next "must have" acquisition... hehe!)

also, few things to take it to the next CEDIA approved level,
1. stealth speakers installation.
2. Hush box for projector (keep the proj totally silent and out of sight)
3. Lutron custom Zoned lighting
4. Themed theater, complete with scrolling LED marque (those scrolling words) and popcorn
5. custom hand held touch screen remote control
6. Zoned Audio and Video distribution
7. Kaleidescope Video server.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

With the price of Full HD LCD TV and plasma tv tumbling to affordable level, I guess we shall be seeing a lot more HT setup. Hopefully, the nice display panels aren't being partnered with HTiB .

maybe they will be partnered with "soundbars" biggrin.gif
