No hard feeling on your friend's setup. If he employs pro to do the whole project, the end result will be magnificent. Normally, when someone is spending this kind of money, they would get pro to do it for them.

Your friend could be doing it all by himself to save cost. So, end result would not be ideal.

If ProAc, then better go for valve amp rather than solid state. Audio Note OTO SE is quite good. Wonder it is still around.

I have done some tidying in my room as well as relocating the furnitures and racks as there are acoustic details lost. I can hear it when I stand in the middle of the room. But, when I sit on the sofa, the depth of the bass is lost along with some details. Boy, it sounds better now.

With the price of Full HD LCD TV and plasma tv tumbling to affordable level, I guess we shall be seeing a lot more HT setup. Hopefully, the nice display panels aren't being partnered with HTiB .

IMHO, HTiB is the first amateur step into HT world . Then, they start to know about the separate HT system, which produces better AQ. With enough reading and exposure towards dedicated HT system (not forgetting thick wallet ), they will surely take the plunge .
