digital zoom is not that useful. it just crops the picture.
btw the more useful function is self timer. or maybe the burst mode / speed. but they doesn't come free.

where this s/w will decrease the snapshot speed?

sometimes i realised the snap shop is slow where i still have 6GB to go ~
