Hi, I'm also applying for the MT program, but I'm interested in investment banking side, i.e. making corporate deals in ECM/DCM/CF/M&A teams. I wonder if PBB MT offers such pathway? Maybe in Treasury?

BTW, to all the seniors here, why did you opt for PBB MT instead of Maybank GMAP, CIMB TCB or RHB MA roles? Dont mean to hijack the thread, but I'm curious because it seems some feel the culture and technology is a bit.. outdated.. shall I say? And the starting salary of 2800 and increment of 5% ito 2950 after a year.. in 2019 is below the industry's average salary right?

Also, it seems the only way to get into the MT is to email their HR and pray for a reply? I got a call back saying I passed the initial screening and they will process my application, but then later after 2 weeks, still no news, no email to confirm the conversation, etc?

But then PBB is the 2nd biggest bank in Malaysia lah, so results speak for themselves, I guess?

It is highly unlikely for you to be offered IB positions for their MT as the positions are reserved for experienced hires. The recruitment process will take quite some time as there are thousands of applicants applying everyday. Most people go for PBB because they have no other offer, or at least that’s the case for mine. After a few months in PBB I received an offer from CIMB and I didn’t think twice to go for it. Compared to other banks, PBB is seriously outdated, not only in terms of system n processes but also culture.

That's interesting. I think that sort of confirms my perspective. Thanks for the insight!
