IMHO, having a qualifier is much more fairer. The gap between last year's finals and this year's Asian WCG is quite lengthy so anything could happen in between.

For WCG.MY most probably no. But for ACG, we will have to wait and see if they want to have DotA.

What's the different between Marshal & Crew...??
Interested in this position...
Eventhough i'm not "tat" expert in playing game.. but i did play la of course..
I can help setup all the stuff... piece of cake for me...

Crew does the setup, make sure everything is in place (exhibition, stage etc.) running around, help carry out activities etc.

Marshals takes care of the tournament area, make sure the computers are up and running, answer questions to the participants, make sure they play according to the rules etc.

Good luck with this years event IN2. Had a great time last year and it was a dissapointment that the visa didn't work out and we had to find a replacement last minute which really caused our miserable performance. Hopefully everything goes all smooth this year! I will meet the Malaysian contingent in Cologne if it is Hybrid representing! Lets go boys!

I also really hope that the World Cyber Games Pan Asia Championship features Counterstrike. This is probably a good thing cause it helps the Malaysian Counterstrike team play against teams from China and Korea who are certainly up there for Counterstrike.

compare with 2006, the place held is going to be smaller, lowyat ain't big enuf for WCG, the middle hall so small -.-"

Nice decision for having a pre-WCG match for Asian WCG.

Lowyat plaza although is small but its where IT-savy geeks and hopefully gamers hang-out. Should be able to generate a more sizeable protion participants within a duration of 8 weeks period (and perhaps a cheaper rent for venue).

Btw, where do the winners of previous WCG stay in Singapore?

I think what your stating here is absolutely irrelevant. I dont think how big or the size of the event matters. Probably for publicity wise it does, but in my opinion the event can be held anywhere. Look at ESWC 2006 which was held at Clutch Gamers.

But I've got to agree with you that the feeling isn't the same but, in my opinion as long as the event runs with whatever the budget the organiser can offer, I support it thoroughly. Cause we should be grateful enough that certain companies are even going into this business running tournaments for us. And by complaining like how you just did here, it will probably make the them back out in the near future and all of us will be weeping.

Get your facts right
WCG 2006 - its in KLCC BUT at HALL 5 ONLY
WCG 2007 - same as 2004, 2005 its at Mid Valley Hall 2 & 3 [unless they manage to make the halls smaller somehow, I am pretty sure its the same size all these years]

Anyways, registration is first come first serve basis, but to make it fair for last year's champions (depending on the games relevant to official games) there will be a spot reserved for the champions. Well, to last year's champions, if you're good enough, you will still go to Singapore, if not then try harder during the MY Championship and try your luck to Germany this year

But make sure your mommy & daddy let you go Singapore if you win ar.. if not later kena marah.. win di cannot go haha

they still "allowed" u to play regardless u are underage or not
just ask your parents for their signature in the parental consent form and problem solved
this is not CGS where underaged are not "allowed" to play at all

Firstly, I think if your brother cant come to the forums and enquire about the rules and regulations by himself, He should not join the competition.

Secondly, It is called the World Cyber Games so your representing your own country how can another nationality play for another. Think about it

I don't know about that thing for certain man.....

msia doesnt allowed 2 nationalities, u either get PR or just migrate

WCG Malaysia is for Malaysians only. You must have a valid Malaysian I/C to join

I don't think you can have dual nationality, i believe 1 of it is not valid. You can join as long as you're a Malaysian, but if this person is found to have joined WCG in another country, he will be disqualified immediately.

although indonesia seems to be doing a better job at consoles
they are still lacking sponsorship to send a full team to germany
only the champions for fifa and cs 1.6 gets to go there

probably for champions for other events can self sponsor themselves over there

What if some WCG in other countries allowed foreigners to join and Malaysians went there to compete? I remember some of us compete at WCG.sg in 2004-2005.

Yes, ACG gamelist is out, we have proceeded in getting licenses for some chosen games, once we obtain licenses, we will announce our gamelist. Ultimately, WCG.MY organizer will be the one deciding which game they want to participate for ACG.

p/s: as far as i know, CS was never in the ACG gamelist even last year, don't think that's going to change this year as well.

Even if you've joined last year's WCG in another country (assuming they allow foreigners & you're a Malaysian), you can still join WCG.MY this year, provided that you don't join other country's WCG in the same year. Even if after you've won WCG.MY, and then only you join ANOTHER country's WCG, you will be disqualified from WCG.MY, all WCG.MY prizes will become ineligible to you.
