Seriously, the old management suck to the max. Haha. Luckily they change the president. At least now we can see some changes to the faculty office and the way they handle something.

hey ..heard dat nex year all de courses ll b conducted in de campus at kampar, izit true? hows de study environment of UTAR's kampar campus?izit nice? i might go dere 4 actuarial science programme ...

all de seniors ..can u all kindly help 2 gv sum comments ??
*
actuarial science program will probably be carried out in KV area for the rest of UTAR's lifespan tongue.gif(up to the decision of the president)
why? becuz utar hiring partime from actuarial field to teach certain subject, and they are all working in KV area, u dun expect them to travel from here to kampar just to teach the student right?
and.. the industry for actuarial science are mostly available in KV area as well,
plus.. for the ease of student who wanted to take actuarial professional papers.. tongue.gif

QUOTE(aki_067 @ Aug 13 2008, 10:30 PM)
well,
some of the lecturers from FES will go over to teach in Kampar next year.
I'm not too sure abt actuarial science but for bioscience courses....
they r going to move the equipments to kampar instead of buying new ones......what a way to save cost =.='''
I think the place is more spacious and you will experience more campus life despite the dull kampar town........no entertainment at all
*
they actually bought some other equipment for kampar also, those that cost near to a mill, were bought for usage in kampar, thats wat i heard from my chemistry lecturer last time =P

experienced? y not..
there are more good lecturers teaching in utar now,
for ex, my intermediate calculus lecturer,
dr.wong, is a well known statistic lecturer in malaysia, he taught in UM, and monash Uni before he came here because his wife is here tongue.gif, according to my other lecturer in foundation, he is the only 1 in malaysia that is very good in statistic and yet capable of teaching all subjects of pure maths(yawn.gif)
but the way he speak is somehow too pro.. haha
u might or might not understand wat he mean..

u r AS student?? wow ..dats cool ...
any advices 4 me if i m goin 2 join dis course???

Added on August 15, 2008, 8:26 pm

u did master in cambridge??? dat means UTAR's cert is recognised widely around de world izit?
*
i dunno wat i can advice tho, but if u hav decided to study AS, den work hard, bear in mind that AS are not studying how to do maths, but we study where and how it come from to applying it, means theory + applications, dats for the fundamental parts tongue.gif

as does not onli depends on the degree program itself, u haf to take soa papers as well, imo, if u think utar is not good enuff, then work hard yourself for the soa papers.. icon_rolleyes.gif

yes u haf to register urself, students need to do research on their own,
where to find study material, when to exam..
but u can ask the dean for further information..
normally they wont tell u wat to do if u dun ask..
u haf to be initiative tongue.gif

well.. actually sometimes, the lecturer do spoon feed the students.. haha
our lecture hall sux.. its not considered as lecture hall oso, just like normal room where they conduct lecture, but i dun think the amount of students affects wat u r going to learn.. if u wanna ask question.. be sure to sit in front.. so u dun haf to voice out so loud tongue.gif

No, I want to study Chem Eng. instead of Biotechnology. Yeah I'm a STPM student. The application form guideline says this

STPM Student Entry Requirements BSc. Chem. Eng.

Minimum 2 principal passes including one Science subject or Maths

A-Levels

Minimum 2 principal passes including one Science subject and Maths

The AND / OR is alot of difference. I didn't fully pass my maths.  cry.gif
*
y change from biotech to chem eng?
bear in mind that chem eng is not mainly chemistry but mostly about engineering, thermodynamics
