It would be an added advantage if you know Mandarin especially when you works in MNC that have interest in China. But then again, English will still remain important. While we are learning mandarin, people in China are learning English. I have seen a statistic in which they claim, by 2020, China will be the country with the largest population able to converse in English.

Agree, I took Chinese for SPM last year, my parents encouraged me to do so. Who knows one day, I might be offered to work in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan. (smile)

hahahaha, lol, so true..i have seen such students too..thats what they said genius i guess.. sadly im not in tht category.. but then right results arent everything.. i have seen many who r in the president's list and deans list, who cant speak properly n neither can they think out of the box..They r more like book followers, just memorize everything from the book.
*
But, to memorize the thing u learned in degree.. kinda.. ahahha.. Damn alot of people can't speak properly.. even if lecturers tongue.gif Btw, mostly those top scorers sit at the front row alone, and they are very timid.. hahaha.. i stereotyped biggrin.gif between.. do you guys read from books or just depend solely on the notes given by lecturers? hmm.gif

Btw, i donno how 2 speak mandarin too.. But it doesnt mean that my english is good. Haha, i tried to join chinese school at my place for form 1, but got rejected, because they don't accept student who don't know mandarin.. >_>

I have experienced with lecturers who are damn poor with his/her english.....seriously, It was a hard time for me!!!!!!! ask them one question they will answer you another thing...=.=''' doh.gif

actually I think that students should read from books other than lecture notes but how many of us here really do that?

Well, for my case, from Week 1 to Week7, I would be hardworking enough to read from reference books and make my own notes but after that when midterms and assignment datelines pile up in front of me...finishing the lecture notes has became a great burden to me.....ahaha....so during exam period....stick to lecture notes and u will still do great!!! thumbup.gif

laugh.gif cant help but stereotype in this. from what i observe, most of those "top scorers" who sit in the front row come from biomedic. tongue.gif
no offence though. just what i observe. sweat.gif whereas biochemistry will only sit in front when the lecturer is giving hints for midterms and such. laugh.gif

haha. there's some lecturers who are very sought after, but cant speak in english well. doh.gif there was one lecturer who studied in taiwan for many years, if you can ask her in mandarin, she's very pro, but if you ask in english, chances are it will take a longer time for her to answer. biggrin.gif

Dr. Chye Soi Moi ! How can I forget her ! Hahahaha. But she is head of animal cell culture you know. Dont play play. Her English cacat only, but she can give you a very pro answer in Mandarin. Lol.

And I agree with Rachel, mostly are the biomedic and biotech kakiz (those top scorers) that like to sit in front. If you guyz have notice, there is one batch of Biomedic in which there is a guy who always sit up straight, alone, in front of the lecturer. Hahaha. Damn, don't he feel lonely there?

But I do agree, when you sit infront, you tend to concentratre more and understand things easily. Haha. Compared to us, sitting behind, and take turn taking notes (1 sleep, 1 take notes and vice versa when the other feel tired and the other is energized). Hahaha. No wonder Dr Soon always say biochemistry student tend to feel inferior to biomedic students lerr.... LOL

She is not the best lecturer, but definitely not the worst also. You have yet to see some very "cincai" lecturer yet. Hahaha. But I guess, the chances of Biotech student meeting her is very low. Lol.

I need help in clarifying something thou,

I got hold of my application form for utar yesterday from my godsis.

I was planning to apply for Pyschology in Kampar but in the application form,it lets you apply for more courses example like first choice,2nd choice and so on.But the problem is I wanted pyschology only. Can I just put the course as the first choice and leave the others blank? And is there any possibilities that utar can send me to other campus?
