If they have a strong story backing it up then this game will be great.
Now i am just keeping my expectation low, from what i am seeing from the SS and trailers, it might just be another typical RPG you know. Just hope that it wont be another Eternal Sonata-like |

After watch the trailer make me wnna buy this game.. hope this game better then Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey ( never finish this game. donno why kinda boring... |

Yea , Star Ocean also not developed by SE , rather SE is the publisher only .
Blue Dragon is super boring to me , while lost Odyssey still ok . BTW , Tri Ace previous record is developing Star Ocean , Valkyrie Profile and Radiata Stories series , so IMO , this game should be at least decent . |

Some nw info on the Tri-Ace X Square Enix game,
* Game looks like FFXII, enemies stroll around and waiting to be attacked or attack * Combat is entirely real-time * Two party members are largely AI-controlled, though there are specific buttons that can be used to instruct them to use specific techniques * Simple button combinations. At any time, you can tell your healer to heal simply by pressing Y. * Archery switches to nearly a first-person view and lets the player aim the bow * Lots of travelling around Sources: Edited from Kotaku! after trying the vesperia demo and watching the trailers, i decided to skip that pre-order and focus on this game instead. (both have same price at P-A)
prays it won't let me down ( like ES, ME or LO ) |

Lost Odyssey is awesome.
Probably till now the best RPG for the next-gen consoles. |

QUOTE http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1217192_1407.html Famitsu Reports: Infinite Undiscovery borrows Star Ocean's Private Events ![]() from VGCHARTZ Below is a garbled excerpt from a babel-fish like translation of the page that talks about the new "private Event" segments in Infinite Undiscovery. Private events in the Star Ocean series allowed you, under certain circumstances, to speak with other characters and learn more about their back story. In other instances it was used to show what characters that had left the party were up to. ![]() What the page seems to show are some examples of this in use, primarily a list of characters, and what they do while they are away from the party and what they do when they are speaking only with the main character privately. Sorry the the garbled language, but it was the best I could do with an entirely Japanese website. "Towns and villages and into the party character is temporarily away from the party, each in his own actions here and there to make. They found that the conversation can occur in a "private event (PE)". The important thing is for this event and to see friends and Kapell, set between the "emotional value" changes. The emotional value of the Battle of peer influence the actions of important factors. ." Sounds exactly like what is in Star Ocean or even the "Tales of..." series to me, this could really help establish the characters if done well. what I gather that this is saying, is that these events lead to emotional changes between characters and helps their relationships, if you do enough, you could have things happen to influence battles or major story points. Famitsu Infinite Undiscovery Trailer (Japanese)
For a change from the anime-likeness of Tales of Vesperia to more actual size Infinite Undiscovery, the game is really heading the right way to attract RPG-fans to fall for the game. And after watching it, all of you can probably do the guess the name of the characters at the picture i posted above This post has been edited by -= Virgil =-: Aug 28 2008, 06:13 PM |
