For me, I just do surfing to get kind of information that I want to have. Normally it based on text, picture, flash files and sometimes I did downloaded documents and watch online video streaming through youtube for example. So my everage data usage would be 50 to 60 Mb daily. Yes for paying RM48.00 to use only 1.5Gb was not feel the value for money.. since maxisbb allow customers to keep surfing even in lower speed make the customers willing to keep support their business....
QUOTE(Eguy1314 @ May 5 2010, 12:21 AM) Well, for me. I subscribe Maxis BB because going to stay in hostel and don't have streamyx .. This post has been edited by techie.opinion: May 5 2010, 08:38 AMAfter i rent a house outside and have streamyx i might consider cancel it or change to digi broadband for a better bandwidth limit. Don't you felt that 1.5GB a little bit too less? I see what you did there |

I had great past experience as TM Streamyx customers, last time i used to pay RM60 per month. I have to cut the line as I keep moving from place to place so not permanent renting house. So wireless broadband soultion is the best for me.
Their line are perfect as I would say. No downtime and always available when i used it for fun and work... read through the terms and condition and understand it. No matter which provider u support their business. The connection will be provided at their best effort, so the provider do not promise their service as advertised packages. Mobile broadband provider will depend on their signal strength and coverage and its common awareness i would say, maxisbb was totally bad at Bayan Lepas Police Station area in Penang when I try to use it in the past time. QUOTE(shadow111 @ May 5 2010, 08:16 AM) you are right. if they straight disable the account after the limit has been reached, i'll be the first to terminate it. This post has been edited by techie.opinion: May 5 2010, 09:06 AMsince they enable us to keep on surfing at throttle speed after the limit, i am still satisfied with it. furthermore, i hv the worst experience with streamyx where my line will be down at least few days each month for dunno-what-the-fukup-tm-do till i cannot stand. although 1.5gb is way to little, at least i'm payin only rm48 compare to 115.30 for stupid tm last time. |

Yup, do not delete your browsing history. It would help to reduce the amount of data downloaded should you re-visit the same website again. What I do not like is most of the website having flash thingy that keep changing and it cause data tranmission to run it. So to avoid this, i use to faster click the object that you want to read..... heheheheheh... we should learn more how to browse in economically friendly... ahaksss! Hope the broadband market keep competitive and the businesses will pressing their balls to satisfy their customers.... as what european and american done.... heheheheh

It can be happen as long as we customers are united to always look for only the best option available and fair services. First thing, we need to remove 'Tidak Apa' attitude as we could not rest on our laurels.
QUOTE(shadow111 @ May 5 2010, 10:34 AM) can share how to use this option in firefox? This post has been edited by techie.opinion: May 5 2010, 10:44 AMAdded on May 5, 2010, 10:36 am hopefully they will give free upgrade to 3gb for the rm48 package.. |

Like mine.. I start with myself.. look for cheapest and best services... it's normal for people to look for value for money thingy nowadays as money very hard to earn and willing to delay their purchase until now... for example maxisbb offer free modem and cheapest subcription fee which is the customers before have to pay a fortune for it.... is it visible or not? The customer forces actually driving the business... if business want to get the higher volume then they must do something different to win the crowds! Simple... Cheers!

That SGD20.00 +.. if you convert to RM... it would be RM46.72.... so the cost is cheaper only RM1.28 when compare to maxisbb with 1.5GB... it was the cost different.
Yes it was great different when compare with amount of data quota (50GB) which is singapore telco company offered... Thumb up to Singapore Government on initiative taken to enhance their country.... Malaysia... no choice that we have to admit and do changes.... WAKE-UP! QUOTE(Eguy1314 @ May 5 2010, 05:58 PM) I duuno why my post didn't edited >.< Anyway, why cant local operator like SG that able to offer up to 50 GB bandwidth usage limit? I visit SG's singtel website to see their broadband plan , not bad i shall say as for youth like me , i just have to pay 20SGD+ then i will have 1.5 mbps ( g00d enough for me) of speed and also free a usb modem. Added on May 6, 2010, 10:35 amIt was sad and painful... as we paid for the services. I had that experience when I was stay at nearby Bayan Lepas Police Station, Penang. Maxisbb that time are really bad... luckily it offered 30 day trial period with the modem... so i just do return their modem and close the account without any cost... worrr... QUOTE(voodoo8808 @ May 5 2010, 11:36 PM) maxis really, really sucks at my area, bdr puchong jaya, especially from 7-11pm. i guess it's the network 'rush hours', where everyone's back home from work...damned! worse, my area isn't due for upgrade as per maxis website says... This post has been edited by techie.opinion: May 6 2010, 10:35 AMspeed is bloody erratic...sometimes 3-7kbps, max 12kbps! Grrrrr.....felt like dumping the usb modem into dustbin!!! Forgetful chinese-m'sian am I....that cheap things no good, good things no cheap. No wonder RM48 ler....but i naively thought the 1-M'sia 'nasional broadband inisiatif' is finally up, walking their talk after all these years....yet, another fallacy it was... Maxis should clean up its ears & listen well...lite users don't mean they're slow users. Heed this...Buck up or wrap up! (btw, this was sent to maxis feedback as well) |

That's correct as long as it capped at the mentioned speed... Hahahaha.. I just read about maxis released micro size of sim card to comply with ipad requirement so we do not need to manually cut off current sim card and hopefully we can change for new sim card size without any charges apply... how about other providers?
Still sleeping? QUOTE(mouldybread @ May 11 2010, 09:24 AM) yeah its a typo, its 16 K Bytes per second, or 128 k bits per second. a bit more than 2 times of the old 56k modem. This post has been edited by techie.opinion: May 11 2010, 02:19 PM |

Just download ubuntu 10.04 LTS and install it. It would not destroy your windows OS as u can choose to side by side installation. Then configure system -> network connections -> choose Mobile Broadband... it pre-setup in this new version of ubuntu... I just try it out...

Ouch dear... you no need to create the partition as the ubuntu setup will get it done for u. If you want to re-size more storage then option is available to do as well. Let try it out...
side by side installation meaning that u can can choose which OS you want to use when u start your computer... so called multiple OS in one computer. QUOTE(shadow111 @ May 11 2010, 09:24 PM) This post has been edited by techie.opinion: May 11 2010, 09:39 PM |
