i using this "power" broadband not that small usb modem but the black colour modem.

they told me the speed is up to 3.6mbs
but i try speedtest.net n found out the speed only 300kbs

in the modem setting page, my dl/upload speed seem capped to

364kbs/215kbs

so my question is my modem being capped or i being conned?

3.6mbps is base on best effort basis... normally nobody will get this speed .. hoho
so I already downgraded it to advande package ...

Yup... same as my case ...
Actually I already give up with the Maxis BB ... I just want to wait until the contract matured then I will terminate it...
Why I give up with Maxis bb? It is simple, I don't care that Maxis capped us for 5gb/month but the speed of Maxis will keep on decreasing when u were downloading (I not mean the BT/e-donkey) even the Windows/OS patchs files.... and it will stop/hang in the middle of downloading ... what u can do is switch off the modem and switch on again... but all your downloading jobs will be gone like wind.....hoho

Until now, my ubuntu OS still cannot get full updated patches (tried more than 3 mths) mad.gif

my ZTE modem spoiled and brought it to MAXIS center to ask for replacement today... they said currently out of stock (I wondering if new registration also out of stock???)
Of course I made complain to them if I still need to pay for the service since I dont have any modem but only sim card ??...
Finally they suspended my account and I paid nothing for them until they replace the modem for me... (I kept 1 hard copy for evidence of suspension)
quite poor service now for MAXIS especially for broadband... wonder anyone faced this problem b4 ???
