QUOTE(wltw87 @ May 26 2009, 02:29 PM) Read the info on the website. It should be without the contract (ie no commitment), and there is a penalty of 200 if terminated early. But im not sure for without modem. Yes this one apparently is different...they dont have activation fee (normally RM100). You just pay RM78 for first month upfront and you are good to go. No more RM200 handling fee too...making it TRUELY no contract! (i'm just copying whatever on the website)plus do the direct debit thingy and you save RM10 every month anyone using this one? compatible to all modems right? Added on May 28, 2009, 4:23 pm QUOTE(wltw87 @ May 26 2009, 11:24 PM) Does anyone know WHEN is MAXIS going to UPGRADE their service... and remove the CAP.. im sure its annoying everyone. 3GB is too little.. =.='' My experience with Maxis has been sucky previously (use in Keramat and Damansara), but lately it's getting better though...maybe they are upgrading it by phases...KV is congested and wireless technology is like that i think when you have a lot of people using it and the unrealiability of the connection during peak hours.... =.='' It drops like crazy... even streamyx does better than maxis, and maxis is overrated. =.=''.. sobz... Recently used in Alor Setar and Ipoh and its damn great (bless the non congested network of other areas) Also agree that 3GB may not be enough...cmon Maxis hear us out! Upgrade the CAP! QUOTE(shinichi88 @ Jul 18 2009, 11:19 PM) May i know after the 12 months contract, the Maxis Wireless Modem is belong to ours or still need to give back if terminate the contract after that..?? we have to return the modem...that's where the lifetime warranty kicks in...the modem belongs to Maxis thus you can change them at the centre if we have any defects...and can we halt the service for few month during the contract period..?? went to KLCC just now and saw the new modem...similar to Celcom but they have various plans (according to volume usage 1.5GB, 3GB, 6GB and 12GB) And the PC Fair promo is ON!!! |

QUOTE(Imzadi @ Aug 25 2009, 04:11 PM) Both options are with contract. Device means the Modem. So one option with modem, one without. From what i understand, the device one has handling fee of RM200 if you terminate within 12 monthsThanks for replying & the modem recommendations For the no device (Advance Lite), you only pay RM68 upfront. Then you can terminate anytime if you dont like it. My suggestion is the same - try it out first with no device, but you have to buy modem tho. Or use your phone to test out the speed Added on August 26, 2009, 9:15 am QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 24 2009, 02:17 PM) Yeah Lyn, Maxis Broadband website has confirmed this. Get broadband using Hotlink cardhttp://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband...ess_prepaid.asp ![]() At least now we can manage our internet usage with this Prepaid thingy. Sometimes we just need to use the service for a day or two but cyber cafe cost you a load. This post has been edited by athrunzala7: Aug 26 2009, 09:24 AM |

Yeap...in the previous ZTE package, the SIM card can only be used with that modem
Just checked with Maxis that for all the Device packages (the 1.5GB, 3GB etc) - modem is locked (since it's rented from Maxis anyway), SIM card not lock (can use with other modem) For the bundle (ZTE HomeValue), both modem and SIM card are not locked |
