100kbps is definitely the capped speed. Try this afternoon and get the same thing.

Do you get SMS for the data volume runs out?

I get 2 SMS.

1. You are nearing your subscribed package's volume quota. Your speed will be reduced once you reach the quota

2. You have reached your volume quota. Once you are directed to the portal, your speed will be reduced. Buy more data volume to enjoy uncapped speeds.

I don't get directed to portal thou cause am not using maxis modem.

100kbps per month. Sigh~ Lets hope they would not get any lower. If it does, definitely need to terminate already.

The network protocol used by Maxis BB in my area is WCDMA and not HSDPA. However, for Celcom and U-Mobile. It is HSDPA.

Anyone here gotten the HSDPA network coverage at your area? If so, what is the speed like?

For maxis BB, I can get 3.6Mbps during off peak hours before my speed get capped.. (my modem can't get higher than 3.6 cause it does not support HSPA+ 7.2 Mbps but it is ok. I would get capped anyway.)

I suppose , you might be able to get higher with WCDMA network too.
*
WCDMA = 3G = 384kbps

HSDPA/HSPA = 3.5G = 1.8mbps, 3.6mbps, 7.2mbps, 14.4mbps

HSPA+ = 3.75G = 42mbps, 84mbps

4G = more than 100mbps

currently indonesia launching 42mbps HSPA.. laugh.gif

I have no idea what connection I'm connected to, since Win7 don't provide much details, just the connection name and signal bars only. I'm only looking for the cyan light.

I didn't use that dashboard. Win7 connects using the modem automatically whenever I plug it in. It indicates similar to WiFi, name, signal and nothing else.

weird.. shocking.gif

even not use dashboard..i using dial up..

That is what i think too but  I can get 3.6Mbps. So, it is definitely 3.5G.

After much digging, this is what i found

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Speed_Packet_Access
For some strange reason, my modem is still detecting WCDMA but running on HSDPA speed. Guess that is the problem when am not using Maxis modem.
*
same with me..blue LED but more than 2mbps speed.. sweat.gif

how do u set google chrome's cache?..pls advise.. icon_question.gif
*
Simply close Chrome, right-click your Chrome shortcut, click Properties, and then in the field labeled "Target:", make it look something like this:

"...chrome.exe" --disk-cache-size=N

and 'N' is the cache size limit, in bytes..

How about google chrome?
When we set it to 400 mb mean?
*
mean can save 400mb offline file..

example...

you load LYN forum..it's downloading website file and save at cache..

close internet browser...load LYN forum again..faster then earlier right..

because no need to download all file since it stored on cache..

*
i give u full address for target..

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --disk-cache-size=100000000

just copy and paste on target field..100000000 bytes..mean 100mb..

I dunno i'm in the right place or not.
I right click google chrome icon > Property> Shortcut > Target.

But when i click apply , it pop out " 'C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe'  specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."
