anyway, just a casual observation tat i made the other day at maxis...

they are now offering free modem for 3 and 5 month subscription...

BUT THEN...ALL AROUND MALAYSIA, most of the maxis center tell u they outta stock..or the stock not yet come (dunno when come)=same effect as no stock lah...including the one in my area..tats y i take their 1 month package 1st..

so, wat's the point of having a promo when they dun have enuf modem to go around with?...its like saying "i have a lot of money, but rite now i dun have any money with me..."

juz some casual observation...anyway, the promotion is said to end today (30 Aopril2010)...let's see if suddenly they got stock onot...

wait a minute, i thought the promotion end on 31st may?

lol.. i think some other rural area shop got gua..
what is the 1 month package? care to share more on this?

actually my intention is to take the 3 or 5 month package with free modem...but then they tell me no modem...i somehow felt cheated u know...

yeap...as long as u are below 25 of age then can liao...or maybe u try to ask can allow flexibility...

Because they use 3G/3.5G sim card as a receiver to receive and send data ma.
Therefore you can sms and broadband lor, but phone calls la, if you want phone calls then insert your phone call sim card lo.

That's truly a scam, go report to mata.

The fact is, GPRS >>> EDGE >>> WCDMA >>> HSPA >>> HSDPA/HSUPA. (D for download, well U goes to upload)
WCDMA has a stable ping alot then EDGE and GPRS, and GRPS has a rate like 18 kbps (2kb/s)

While Maxis has a speed support of 7.2 mbps, so HSDPA/HSUPA is the maximun signal you can get lor.

Maxis is truly speed burst.

Using in car on Plus highway, keeps fluctuating from GPRS to WCDMA (no EDGE?). If set to "WCDMA only" it will keep DC.

My area too... I'm from Manjung Perak but they said the stock will arrive by next week.

I get the information from the Maxis service shop in my area.
At 1st, they told me that there's no stock and if i want i have to go to Maxis HQ in Ipoh. So my dad asked phone number of Ipoh HQ and when we called it , found that the number is not available . So the next day went back to that Maxis shop again, then they said that the promotion already extend to end of May and the stock shall be available by next week and asked us to leave them our contact number that once got stock they will call us and went home. After about an hour , receive call from maxis saying there's a stock lol.. A customer had being blacklist so his/her modem become ours and they asked us want or not the modem. That's how i got my modem

About the maxis promotion extention , it was Maxis told me and i just share with you all, don't blame me if there's any mistake >.<

LOL I got mine in Imbi, all out of stock, out of stock, but luckily one small vendor (just a stall) had I think 2 or 3 left

yeah, according to maxis website, the free modem promotion now until 31 may 2010. So you all got 1 month to look for the dealer who got stock, no need to rush...

Yea.. but be careful, there are some unscrupulous staff at Maxis, they will tell customers that they need to return the modem. Then they will probably sell the modem or something
