QUOTE Kovalainen passed fit to race in Turkey Eurosport - Thu, 08 May 11:23:00 2008 Finland's Heikki Kovalainen has been passed fit to race at the Turkish Grand Prix.Kovalainen was knocked unconscious and taken to hospital suffering from concussion after crashing in the Spanish Grand Prix on April 27. McLaren said the governing International Automobile Federation had given him the all-clear for Sunday's race after a mandatory medical at the Istanbul Park circuit. Kovalainen said: "I am obviously very pleased with the decision by the FIA Medical Team. "I arrived here today feeling confident that I would pass the FIA test as I feel 100 percent and if I had not felt 100 percent I would have told the team already and stayed at home. "My preparation for this weekend has gone well and we have done a lot of fitness training. Obviously a big thumbs-up for all the FIA safety standards and the guys in Spain who worked hard to get me out of the car safely." Reuters good news |
