Ya.. pity to nick.
Since FIA already standardized ECU, they can monitor every car status, this include car fuels condition, If incident like yesterday happen again, Nick should not be penalized, as Nick enter pit because he need to refuel.

From the race, I can assume Mclaren already lost their pace to Ferrari. Since Hamilton on 3 pits, he should be on pole during qualification, but only third. If Hamilton on 2 pits, it will be another 1-2 finish for Ferrari.

The McLaren Formula 1 team was advised by Bridgestone to stop three times to prevent a tyre failure during the race for Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton finished Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix in second position.
Bridgestone want to help Ferrari?.. jk.
If this is true, than we should see more teams on 3 pits.

lol dont quite und tat? stop 3times will cause tyre failuer? not logic

Happened last year, Hamilton tires puncture, so that the reason why Bridgestone advice them for 3 pits strategy.

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ May 11 2008, 11:12 PM)
Kimi's wing probably damaged a little only...but if it really did...why didn't Ferrari change the front wing?
*
change front wing need longer time, so they decided not change.

QUOTE(mcchin @ May 12 2008, 01:22 AM)
it is just the mclaren car setup is more harsh on the tyre compared to the other teams

by utilising 4 sets compared to 3 set
this would reduce the posibility of tyre failure
*
I think is Hamilton driving technique instead of Mclaren car setuo.
Hamilton always push the car to limit, he always braking at last minutes, this will cause engine and tires problems.

From f1.com
QUOTE
Commenting on the issue, Hirohide Hamashima, Bridgestone Motorsport’s tyre development director, said: “Bridgestone and the team had safety concerns which did influence his strategy, however he achieved a very good result. These concerns affected no other car on the grid, and we will be analysing the data to see what we can learn from this. We did see three cars finish the race after making only one stop, so durability was certainly strong for the tyres for these competitors.”

Tires play the roles, harder tires (for Istanbul GP) only reach working temperature after 3 laps, from CCTV5 commentators. So that might be the reason why Hamilton can't get pole.
If Hamilton can pass Massa before 1st pit stop, then Mclaren will win the race.

BTW, anti Raikkonen now begin... laugh.gif

my comment :

Not like rFactor, teams rarely use brand new tyres during qualifying. they usually use 'scrubbed' tyres (light worn tyres) - because it has a little more grip than brand new tyres.

And not like rFactor - in real life F1 teams uses tyre warmers - to keep the tyre at certain temperature.

Other factors that i can think of : track temperature, brake temperature and the drivers themselves.
*
Thanks for explanations.
Maybe track and brake temperature cause Hamilton lap time.

ferrari seems so innovative these days laugh.gif 1st hidung berlubang and now traffic light in the pits laugh.gif

i wont be surprised if other teams start 2 copy that pit technology in the future cool2.gif  cool2.gif

Ferrari always do things others team don't dare to try. When new stuffs come out, other teams usually will complains, after FIA approve it, they start "crtl+c" "crtl+v" to their car.. biggrin.gif
