Tekken 5. Anyways I would recommend not to buy games in KK cause they are leeches that will suck your money like there's no tomorrow. Usually ps3 games are priced around rm180 and not more than that. Always buy games online, that's what I always do. Even after shipping you are still saving like RM100 per game than buying in KK. There are few reputable sellers in the garage sales, look for them.

Yeah definitely, you are half right. Been playing on xbox live most of the time, i find it hard to find the time to play my PS3 some of the times. That is why i only buy ps3 games that are top notch.

I ve got myself a 2gb pendrive for rm9 in PC FAIR ! 50 Units were available, after 7pm the last day. And also i bought myself a wireless microsoft keyboard with mouse for rm79. Quite cheap.

@Blueroom, i only have the ones on my siggy. Concentrate on xbox360 actually. PS3 ,at least for now, is just my ultimate multimedia entertainment system, but i still play on it on a daily basis though.

Blueray discs, is price ranged around 140 to 180 here. You can buy blueray discs in SPEEDY, palm square actually. Its pretty sweet to obtain Blueray movies especially if you're a movie-fanatic and you have a FULL HD tv to watch it on.

haiya forgot to take my freebies at that shop la...i ask them whether i got the ps3 umbrella but they said they dont have that...so they ask me to come after christmas again when the another stock come...wat the expensive hobbies i have to spend it...i paid rm 2049.00 include the HDMI cable for ps3 and another asus VK222H for RM 999.00
is there any shop at city mall got rental gaming service for ps3? |

Any brand of wireless router will do. Linksys, Belkin and Dlink to name a few good brands. If iam not mistaken, as of now, rhoyo has only XBOX 360, been playing fifa09 with him.

the shop in city mall charges a deposit of rm250 per disc/game/BD they charge rm20 for a week *if i am not mistaken* the deposit is of cause refundable been reading good review for resistance 2 if i like cod4 and GOW would i likely love this game? |

bluedream, i played COD4 and COD5 and loved both resistance game, all of them are shooters, but i think the resistance series does take longer to finish and are more to alternate universe storyline and weapons.

techasia is on the ground floor of karamunsing, rm 1899, is worth if you MUST have malaysian warranty and the 2 free games are what you want, i think they giving fallout 3 and something else now.
but you get a singapore set from KL, its only rm 1380 i think with no games lah bluedream, sorry sold COD5 already on wednesday, now marathoning fallout3. |

I bought the PS3 solely for online play for games like MGO and et cetera. I dont even buy Blueray movies, but it is probably because they are expensive lol. And oh yeah, i dont watch DVDs or play CDs using the PS3, i only do that on the XBOX360.

Forgot but its on the "otaku" lane as i like to call it hehe. Right wing lane where most of CityMall game shops is. I'll check it out later. There's also a shop in CP selling PS3 games, ground floor, near where Burger King used to be(next to Photo Shop) i think. I think they got Assassin Creed, NBA etc at a whooping RM2++!!!.
Oh and the big electrical shop(at the back) near them also sell ps3, played on hdtv. good for those who browsing for tv for ps3. |

These game shops aim for casual parents buying consoles for their kids. Ppl like you guys who are price conscious only consist like 10% of their customer base, they don't mind not to make sales with ppl who knows too much. And the general thought that Sabah is poor but actually most businessmen are very good at doing grey business like gambling, smuggling, avoiding tax, bribe etc. True statement because im from the interwebs lol

Yeah...sad but its true. We're small in numbers and the remaining bulk are those buying for their 10yr old kid. Most grey bussinessman here are also about 10% of total sabah population.

Been to GameStar II at CityMall yesterday. They rent out PS3 games at Rm50 for 3 weeks with Rm300 deposit. I think there's more than 20 different games there. Ps3's at a hefty Rm1899. Mostly sg model.

@bluedream, Im interested to get RB2, but by looking at the pricetag, rm1200 is abit too much for me as iam a 17 year old student. Buying both ps3 and xbox360 is already over my budget. Paying for another game for 1.2k is radical, i can actually buy another gaming platform, which is the wii with that pricetag |

Techasia is a commercialized company, which spreads across Semenanjung, which i believe the HQ is in KL, as well as the east coast of Malaysia, which is situated in Karamunsing. So i believe the price is a standard price for all official MALAYSIAN set PS3s even if you get it in TechAsia KL. The price is alright for a 80gb machine but the down side is that, 80gb machines are older revisions and are prone to lens failure if iam not mistaken. If they have the new revisions of 80gb machines, then go GRAB IT!
I could be wrong though. But if you want to buy from KL, 40gb machines which are highly reliable are quoted on rm13XX price range. |

You can't install to the hd. You will still require the disc even after it installs some of the game files to the hd. There is no way to bypass that. That said, only downloadable content do not require a disc (obviously hehe). My opinion would be that if you were to rent from that guy, rent a singleplayer game that you think you'd only play through once or twice within the alloted rental time. $50rm for a single player experience is enough to justify the price if you played the heck out of it and didn't want to play it again. I would only bother paying for something that has both singleplayer+multiplayer (coop/mp) aspect to it, which increases the longevity and freshness of the game over time and would be worth it, possibly something that you can purchase/add extra downloadable content for too. As for getting a ps3, I would advise getting it in KL, the prices are way better than here. Games too (140 and above). Beware however, if the model is an hk version, and if something were to happen to it e.g. fried ethernet port, then you won't be able to get it fixed in *ANY* Sony repair center in Malaysia/Singapore. You'll have to actually bring it to hk (they do not accept packages). Or, if you're lucky it's still under warranty or the shop you bought it from is willing to help. I hope that helped. PS - (random tip) for those of you who have your ps3 networked with your pc/laptop, you should save the space on your ps3 harddrive for gamedata and use a media server like twonky media to play files from your pc/laptop over the network (pics/mp3/movies) as this will also be a very good idea in case your ps3 hd dies on you although not absolutely necessary if you plan to use an external drive with your ps3 (but it does save you from losing anything). Also, the 118.101.*.* is fast for downloading anything from the psn store. You can also use ps3 proxy programs and use a download manager on your pc to speed up the downloads from there (for patches/demos/etc). Ok guys . i just went to Techasia . and when i arrived at that place, got this guy says that PS3 can play from Harddisk just like PSP . is this true or f***ing lies
..oh ya, the PS3 that techasia selling got 1 Free game which is Little Big Planet, free tshirt, 1 Dual Shock Joystick and price at RM 1599 .. what do u guys think ? . should i buy here or from lowyat or else .. total undecided whether this is bargain or not . |

There is alot that needs to be considered to run a ps3 bluray iso, namely firmware hacks (although not always necessary). I feel like commenting on the above discussion but that would create more issue on this particular matter. I would rather rest my case haha. Anyways, seriously none of you guys in sabah play MGO? I was playing with this random guy since it was automatching , his username is redvampire, and he said he is from Tuaran. Iam not really sure whether he is telling the truth but he wasnt lagging in my room, probably he is but definitely he is not from lowyat.

Oh and just to add on about the PS3 modding, rhoyo, the PS3 has 8 layers of intensive security systems and even if a team of crackers would want to mod the PS3 to be running game isos, then it is estimated that it would take them roughly 6 to 8 years. So if that happens, the PS3 would be cracked somewhere in 2012 since it is released widely in 2006, so by then PS3 wouldnt be too hot anymore.
The next generation of consoles would surf up by then since game consoles such as the XBOX360's and PS3's lifespan is estimated somewhere between 6 to 8 years too. The XBOX1 died after just 5 years of operation, while the PS2 still lives on to this very day surviving on PS exclusive titles like GOW, FF, Monster Hunter and so on as well as third party games. Added on January 21, 2009, 8:30 pm@skarabels, do you have the game? Then its easy, just follow these steps. 1. Download the latest firmware for the PS3 which is the 2.60, came out today. 2. I wish they would first do level checks and then after that check everyones ping time (and match those with lowest ping times between each other), and choose the person with the highest upload bandwidth to host. I just hate getting put into a laggy host when I do automatching hehe, not to mention the balancing of levels between teams seem unbalanced (for instance in games like cod4 - are they balancing via averages or totals in terms of player levels?). I was playing on the normal servers in mgo with no restrictions but it was filled with beginners. However when I went into one of the beginner places it was full of good players lol, so backwards. Hmm, the usual pingtimes I get with people from sabah are around 40ms and with the west side I get around 70-80ms but you definitely won't feel any lag when playing with people from either side. The multiplayer is quite nice too, quite a few modes but you only get to make one char, after that you have to purchase another character slot (which sucks). There are also ingame freebie extras like music and downloads for extra octo camouflage. Also, when you create your character you can't change his looks etc until after 1 week. If you want female chars I think you will have to purchase the gene upgrade. Something like that anyway. I've not really had problems with connecting to multiplayer games in mgo, but I did have issues hosting. I think that this was due to the fact that I was NAT3 at the time. I do have a theory though - I don't think mgo actually checks the traffic to see whether you are connectable or not to host, it just checks the NAT config status of your ps3 (it doesn't check to see if it actually works), because I was able to host other games fine and also send/receive voice communication without problems (I was NAT3 with ip fragmentation, although I did have the ports forwarded). I did fix the problem however by putting myself as NAT2 which I shouldn't have had to. In any case, this was the only game that had issues for creating/hosting games. So if you plan on hosting, this may be an issue if you are not NAT2. Resistance2 Resistance 2 singleplayer leaves alot to be desired, but that is just my opinion. I wouldn't call Resistance 2 graphically intense - to me some textures were just downright disappointing (yeah, and what's up with all the 95'ish looking bodyparts when you blow something up, not to mention the silly looking blood splatter). Graphical stuff and stupid ai aside, I did get one other bug which happened after a multiplayer offline match ended, and the screen pops up with the main character in the background holding no gun heh (and then my ps3 freezes). Now for multiplayer aspects like coop and multiplayer [skirmish/deathmatch/team deathmatch], I can say that it was thoroughly enjoyable. Sometimes it is hard to actually get connected, but in most cases you shouldn't have a problem. Coop is awesome, I rarely meet players who don't watch your back, and spec ops and medics do what they are supposed to do, although there is always people who love to stand in front of your gun lol. With all the stuff that happens around you though it's hard to see what is going on, just shoot whenever your reticule turns red. I like levelling up and unlocking stuff when you play coop. I think resistance2 really shines in multiplayer rather than single player. So hmm, which to choose? I'm torn on this one, but I'm just going to shoot myself in the foot and say Resistance 2 even though I really love mgs4. Hey kernkraft400, have you ever had a problem with Wipeout HD hanging/freezing by any chance? It happens to me sometimes when I join a game, right after I select my ship. I do not know whether this is related to poor server connections, but then I have to reboot my ps3. The only thing I can think of why this happens is when I have poor connections to the gameservers and it is timing out, but I have no idea why it would freeze.

If you haven't download the previous client version before 1.21 then it would take at least 3 hours + . For faster speed, go for http download instead of torrents.

A word of warning about voltage regulators and power surge protectors - they don't always work 100%. Had a friend who had his ps3 and pc setup behind a voltage regulator and power surge protector and he still ended with a few fried components on both. Just be careful even with those things, and make sure you even unplug your network cable from your ps3 when you aren't using it (if you are wired) cos you can still fry your ps3's ethernet port even when it's not on. Also make sure the surge protector is the last link that you plug your ps3 or whatever into.

what brand did your friend use Salamander? At the moment, Prolink brand didn't give me any problem....yet hehe. But i got a few old BlackOut Buster model "kong" in my office. But it didn't fry the pc. Doesn't last long i guess. Post us the brand so we could avoid buying it.
There are cheap models out there. It all depends on how many sockets it provide. |

I'm usually on in the dead of the night :> anywhere from 9pm (more likely 11pm) and onwards, latest until around 5am maybe if I was in a good game, but if I'm not on the ps3 then I'm most likely to be on my pc

You can sign in to any PSN. My personal choice is US PSN, cause there are more contents on the marketplace. But it only accepts US credit cards, so why dont you create Malaysian PSN, they accept local credit cards, but definitely things are more expensive there. What is your PSN id?

there is no plaza merdeka, wisma merdeka is right next to hyatt hotel, and is near the old jetty to goto the islands

computer game more expensive la....
1 year must upgrade at least 1.3K to play newer games. 1.3K also cannot get max effects, PS3 game expensive, but no nid worry upgrading and can get max effects. i play computer game since 286 era (286->386->486->Cyrix->Amd). certain game still console better..... hehehe... i only cannot accept use ps3 to play first person shooter..hahaha... |

You should check out the Games garage sales for local(Malaysian, mostly from Kuala Lumpur) game distributors. Its really cheap, as compared to the games you bought that are in range of 250-270. In KL, you can get games as cheap as RM170 for new ones and just ask the gameshop owner to post the game to your address, which would take a day usually to arrive at your home.
Its good to know that we have a foreigner that plays games in KK also. Probably we could have a mini scale gathering when i get back. |

My PS3 die yesterday (YLOD) T__T. Thinking of stopping gaming once and for all, so wanna sell my BD and Game. If you are interested on the following item:
