Well dont worry about underpower issues if u looking for a car which u drive alone or with 1-2 ppl. For me even though i always drive alittle fast , the myvi can reach 100kmh easily or settle for the manual if u want a faster pick up or else u need to play with Overdrive or push to 2 for auto cars for better pick up. But for a lone driver, the myvi is seriously good enough.

2nd, for a begineer like u, i suggest to get a fuss free car. Since the myvi is in the market for almost 3 yrs, all issues is pretty much sorted and frm my 2 yrs of experience, the car has seriously never failed me before. Perhaps my only complain is the car is alittle underpower since my ex car was a 1.6

But nevertheless, for a sub 50k car and if u looking for a A to B car with minimal fuss, easy maintaince & easy to drive , good FC, i cant think anything beside the myvi.
