hi..
In spm..I've got an average score..

the thing is..I'm a pure science stream student..
that means I took biology rather than accountancy..
in case ur wondering..
I got 7A's n 4B's

Bm - A2
Bi - A1
Math - A1
Add Math- A2
Physic - A2
Chem - B3
Bio - B4
Agama - A2
Sejarah - A1
Est - B4
Tasawwur - B3

I am quite interested in numbers and calculation..
so izzit a good choice for me to pick accountancy??
If it's not..can tell me what course suit's me best..

Back to the main question..
if i took accountancy..
is it better for me to take fast track in uitm or CAT??

The thing I'm scared about CAT is bcoz I dont even have
a basic knowledge about accountancy.. sad.gif

Help me please~

if u like maths then why don't u take up Actuarial science/Actuarial maths/Actuarial finance?? u don't have to take up accounting just because u like numbers... there's other option u know not only accounting... don't only limit ur self to 1 option have many choices then go for counseling or see the course program to see the papers that u have to take... ^__^

There are actually a lot of majors which are related to mathematics.. You should take some time and go around asking...

thx for the help..

Added on March 25, 2008, 11:25 pmOk erm..

What if I want to take accounting course in the university..

Should I choose :

-CAT
this is a gamble because the risk in failing is high =.="
With this ..I can skip my diploma n degree..
Then I can continue with the professional paper..

or

-Fast track accountancy
a safe choice but still need to study smart =.="
Could obtain diploma n degree in 4 1/2 years..
Not much difference in taking foundation n degree
that took 4 years..

Help me again..
To boost my confidence sad.gif

Need help? I'm taking CAT in UiTM, and it's a fact that our best students were formerly from science stream. It's a gamble, yeah and if you fail halfway, you won't be backed up by a degree or a diploma so people would hesitate.

Anyway, I'm saying it's better since you get a professional certification in a fairly short amount of time. I heard that degree students have it easy, more laid back, etc. If you're taking time constraint into consideration, you should know that CAT takes a year whereas at most, diploma takes two and a half. Then only about 2 papers are exempted for you if you're opting for ACCA. Whereas, if you take ACCA after degree, you'd still have to take 5 papers.

After CAT, the requirement for ACCA is 11 papers.

Just think about if you want a professional certification, or a degree. And how willing you are to commit (A lot of ACCA students here are struggling).

Hope you haven't made your decision yet and my advice is considered timely. tongue.gif

so TS, have you decided?
ur results are quite good. at least better than mine tongue.gif
anyway, CAT doesnt require u to have accounting knowledge. i was previously from pure science stream too. but i have no problem taking CAT & managed to score above 70marks for all subjects when i did my part time few yrs back.

so i'd recommend CAT, given ur results in SPM, u shouldnt have problem clearing it! gd luck! smile.gif
