Sony Announces New 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo Media
Largest capacity Memory Stick delivers quick and easy footage transfer, ideal for Sony’s High-Definition (HD) camcorders and high-resolution digital still cameras
Sony Electronics Asia Pacific expands its range of high-definition recording options with the introduction of the 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo media. This large-capacity flash storage device is ideal for Sony’s latest AVCHD Handycam camcorders and high-resolution Cyber-shot and α series cameras. The new Memory Stick media can store up to 110 minutes of high-definition (HD) video recorded in 1920 mode, approximately 6 hours of HD video in 1440 LP mode, and up to 3800 still images in 10 mega-pixel resolution.
The Memory Stick PRO Duo is the optimal media for the recording of HD content on Sony’s new range of AVCHD camcorders and digital still cameras, as it quickly and easily transfers large amounts of video and image content between devices. It can also be easily removed from the camcorder or digital still camera and inserted into the Memory Stick slot in compatible computers for convenient sharing and editing of content.
“Sony continues to develop higher memory capacity media to meet the increasing needs of our customers,” said Mr. Hakuyu Yoh, Director of Recording Media & Energy Division, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific. “With the launch of the 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, Sony strives to make the storing and sharing of high-definition content more convenient and effortless than before.”
The Memory Stick PRO format also has the added Mark2 certification to designate AVCHD recording support. Memory Stick PRO media products with this logo meet the standard for higher writing speeds, and are certified to operate with recording products that use the AVCHD format.
The 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo media is available in Asia Pacific from March 2008.
Do you have it? If got how much?

I think if it's for its original purpose (video n photos) we shouldn't worry about lag or not but then again, some of us are not talking about that are we? This post has been edited by PhoenixByte: Mar 22 2008, 06:15 AM
