Hi all bros, finally I am one of the family member of sammy i780. I just bought it yesterday. RM1799 with 12 months 0% installment come with 4gb memory card, and 2 batteries. Additional RM125 for Samsung wep210 Bluetooth handfree, 1 rubber pouch and 1 leather pouch. Software can be update anytime i go back to the shop.

This is a great phone, very easy to use when for typing but need some time to practice. Overall I would say it is a good buy.

Sorry for asking noobie question. May i know how to activate my GPS? When i launch my mapking the software cannot detect GPS signal? Is this the setting problem or my phone got problem ?

bro i really appreciate your help. I have trying so hard to look for the NavGo iGO8. But I couldn't find it? Do you mind to PM me where can I got this software? Thanks.

Added on July 28, 2008, 12:57 pmI do believe during PC Fair the price is alot cheaper. Previous PC Fair the price was RM1699 with standard accessories. ANyway, welcomm to the i780 group. Try install NavNGo iGO8 GPS navigator. It's way better than Garmin/MapKing.


Is okie I don't mind you all can get a better deal. ^^ Just make sure you share more exp about this phone. This is my first time buy pda phone. Initial plan is HTC diamond but reconsider about few issue i think sammy i780 more like a business phone so I choose it. Now I am waiting for the official 6.1 rom. When it is out I will bring over my sammy to upgrade. Cheers !

Welcome to Sammy i780 family. I just got mine last Sunday. It is my 1st ever PDA so I am a noobie as well. But the problem you encounter I manage to solve it. I hope I am giving the right information. If something wrong please let me know I will do correction.

Now you have Mapking in ur sammy. I think you still need a 3rd party software call Port Splitter to enable your Mapking. You can download it for free at http://www.gpsmeter.com

After that you need to google it for the setting. If you can't find it. Please do PM me. I will try my best to help

I bought my sammyi780 at PDA Expert Sunway Pyramid. I am using maybank credit card to do the 0% installment. Every month need to pay rm154. So far as i know there is 1 place sell this phone ori set with the cheapest price rm1685 but they only deal with cash no installment.

the shop is located at 2nd floor of subang square, the building next to Taylor business school.

Yesterday I went pc fair. PDA Expert is doing promotion only selling rm1699. So hope this information can help you.

theme i think currently for the official theme u can download it from samsung web site becoz of the screen resolution 320x320 at the moment is really hard to find a suitable one unless you know how to do install the theme through 3rd party software like spb mobile shell 2.1 and etc.. I been searching around but too bad try and error so many times but still can't fit the problem. Now I just hope samsung can launch their 6.1 rom asap so that we can flash it

hmm so far so good I been using it. Everything is working fine the GPS also not bad. Can run garmin and mapking. Cam also no problem. Speed for me is okie I am not sure what kind of requirement you are looking for. Hope my information can help.

Bro I have some problem using garmin mobile xt. Do you mind to share your experience with us? Below are the problem I encounter:-

My Garmin mobile xt is running based on the latest malsingmap. I need some guide how to use it. After I loaded the the software then I press "WHERE TO?" follow by "ADDRESS" then garmin mobile xt will ask me to key in "IN WHICH STATE IS THE ADDRESS" then i press "SPELL STATE" I was stuck until here. No matter what i key in the result is no found

Anybody know how to use it? Please show me some guide I am lost here

hehe bro that is the common problem with our i780 camera. I read it from other forum the function of the camera is a little bit weak. But overall I am still satisfied with it. The picture u had taken will be a little bit blur if the camera did not the absorb enough of light. So you must wait until the light balance is steady then only press the shooting button. So it will be slow on taking picture but from my point of view it is okie for me.

I am facing the same problem too . Until now still cannot solve it. So now usually what I do is connect to wifi then use web messenger.

what is your firmware ? I have updated to i780DXHE1 now the MSN can connect to wifi without any problem.
