just bought one of this i780. 2nd hand.
COD today at ktm subang.
only 500 plus. package is the fon, 1 battery, box, charger + car charger, handsfree, data cable.

i test my digi sim on d spot and pop 3g icon on the network bar. hehe. very fast.

wanna upgrade the firmware now.

how to install garmin?
folo instruction on malsingfreemaps forum but dead-end.

i just came back from lowyat, send it to samsung FMG to upgrade my i780 firmware, to latest version i789PDXHI1. FOC (my fon finish warranty already).

dunno what is special, gonna test it now.

and then i asked if change the keypad to new one, the girl told it is RM87.++ including installation. ori woo... less 100 .


want to install mapking now. . . .

its at lowyat 1st floor. handphone shop level. awek cun woo..
its FOC. takes about 1 hour (depending on the Queue) if many customer, then it takes longer la.

i have not put any software yet. bizi with raya, so many fon book to copy from my nokia.

later tonight i upload some screenshot. but i think its not much different than the last firmware (before i update it).

hey guys, samsung svc center told me that this is the latest they have. dunno why.

my computer error with usb port make me unable to flash the new version from the net.

just add any audio file to your i780.

i added ambulance siren audio. use file explorer, click and hold until an options pop-up --> at the bottom, u can see "Set as rigtone".
i use the siren as my alarm.

same method; i add nokia tone for sms and some mp3's as ringtone.

try look for the default ringtones in windows folder.

E means EDGE, its not 3g.

also always check on your programs, bluetooth, wifi, etc... turn it off if u dont use it.

press n hold OK button to see if got any program running in background.

u can also use task manager to end task/kill unwanted program just like windows on pc.
Click: Start> Settings> System> Task Manager.
