I am thinking to buy one too but my friend is complaining the volume buttons are not locked even he locks the phone.

When he keeps it in the pocket, the volume button will be pressed accidentally and mute the phone.

Anyone facing the some problem?

Just bought it about a week ago. Overall, I am quite happy with it.

As for the key lock for volume button, as long as switching to power saving mode (a short press on the power button), I won't have any problem accidently pressing the volume key anymore.

There is one thing bothering me, the phone function was turned off automatically for 2 - 3 times since I bought it. I can't enable it from the wireless manager, have to restart the phone.

Still trying to figure out what causes this, anyone facing the same problem?

you guys know that this PDA phone is unable to do hard reset( By pressing the combo keys) if you cannot enter into the OS normally. It is a big thread to PDA users, you bricked your phone.
I have seen in PPCSG that Samsung Singapore is offering to upgrade the ROM, currently they are using the same ROM like us. Improvement is add Hard Reset Combo Keys if windows fail to start up, and the mouse act like right click if keep on pressing.
I have Email Samsung M'sia  quite some time enquire about the ROM upgrade services, yet no reply from them.

You mean even using the Hard Reset function in Settings > System also doesn't work?

Have any one of you given your i780 a phone skin?

I just did mine in Digital mall last weekend... oh no... the girl didn't know how to do it and basically paste the whole skin on it without any cutting...

Plan to do it again... but ot sure where can get a really professional one.

I've done some testing and noticed that whenever the Cellular Data Connection (3G with HSDPA) is turned on, it will suck the battery flat pretty quickly...the problem is that once you've activated the Cellular Data Connection to browse or sync e-mails, it would not turn off itself on idle mode...it will just keep connected and that's where and when the battery will suffer most...

now each time after I'm down with the surfing and e-mails account sync, I've to manually turn off the Cellular Data Connection so that the battery stays longer and it works...something to share and I'm still looking to find if any tweaks that can deactivate the Data Connection once it's idle for a certain amount of time...

I did try using PHM Registry Edit to modify the Registry. So far my connection will automatically drop after I exit Opera browser.

What I modified was:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Comm -> ConnMgr -> Planner -> Settings

I changed the value for SuspendResume to GPRS_bye_if_device_off.

You may also want to change the CacheTime's value.

Hope this helps. smile.gif
