I know Enhanced GPS used data, cuz it uses the network to help determine location and increase accuracy, such that it can even be used indoors.

but we are talking about A GPS.

EGPS and AGPS are two different things

1st of all, my bad, i meant for windows mobile u shud not be charged for GPS usage. This is what happens when you're tired. u make mistakes.

secondly, i never claimed to be a pro in EVERYTHING. i'm a mod. a mod is supposed to help out where he can, and keep the forum and section so people like can properly use it, whether appreciated or not.

i always defer to the pros in a particular thread especially if he owns the device and i dont. which is why i asked for clarification that samsung uses data charges for AGPS because my past HTC models HAD AGPS, did NOT incure data chargers, and FIXES in 1 min max

1st of all, no matter what super power mower phone you have, 3G AND GPRS WILL induce charges. That is why you have crappy yet expensive data package from Maxis and Celcom.

A(ssisted)GPS and E(nhanced)GPS the same. HP even call it QuickGPS if I not mistaken. They all use data.

Please brush up your knowledge, a mod shouldn't be so uninformed like this.
