u're not downloading any data from any network. only googlemap and nokia works that way. windows mobile connects directly via GPS, cuz the GPS is strong enough that it doesnt need any net connection to locate your position (unlike noob
nokia)

EDIT: Oh shit u said A-GPS. sorry. all the above i said was GPS. Yes, AGPS will incure charges. but dun worry. u cant use it unless calling your operator and enabling it. dun worry, GPS is good enuf. i've no idea why anyone would want AGPS running indoors. useless plus drains battery

and AGPS charges is separate from data charges. ask your operator smile.gif

Yes. The A-GPS is only activated to locate your position. After it has defined/downloaded the necessary data to i780, it will not download anymore data. How much data is downloaded? I don't know.

Therefore, once i780 has locked the satellite, no data is being downloaded anymore. But still, i780 will constantly connected to 3G without disconnecting it. This 'bugs' is coming from either i780 or Windows Mobile platform itself. But, in Symbian OS, the 3G connection will be auto-disconnected once it's idle for a few seconds. This is one factor why Symbian is more user-friendly than WM.

Are u sure it incurs charges? i've been using windows mobile with AGPS all the while, but it doesnt use it, just normal GPS, no data charges. as far as i know what u described is how nokia works. not windows mobile.

samsung i780 may be different, i dun know, please clarify

I know Enhanced GPS used data, cuz it uses the network to help determine location and increase accuracy, such that it can even be used indoors.

but we are talking about A GPS.

EGPS and AGPS are two different things

1st of all, my bad, i meant for windows mobile u shud not be charged for GPS usage. This is what happens when you're tired. u make mistakes.

secondly, i never claimed to be a pro in EVERYTHING. i'm a mod. a mod is supposed to help out where he can, and keep the forum and section so people like can properly use it, whether appreciated or not.

i always defer to the pros in a particular thread especially if he owns the device and i dont. which is why i asked for clarification that samsung uses data charges for AGPS because my past HTC models HAD AGPS, did NOT incure data chargers, and FIXES in 1 min max

well, mugen has an extremely good reputation for their batteries. their casings are solid, and battery life appears to be good. i'd recommend it over Cameron Sino or any other China company extended batteries. their casings are weak and inferior IMHO

i suggest making your tones in wav format, if mp3, u can convert with nero wave editor which comes with nero burner.

then, in your PC, go to start > programs > accessories > entertainment > sound recorder, load this wav file, and increase the volume there (it increases by an additional 25% every time u do so

use the NOdata fix, and then keep an eye out at your signal strength. watch out for the antenna if it changes to G (GPRS) E (EDGE) 3G or H (HSDPA). If it is means u're connecting to your operator data package. stop what you're doing and quickly disconnect. (click on icon shud be able to see an option to dc)
