mouse issue on WM6.5.x still exists till now as there aren't any new drivers being released by Samsung to officially support i780 on WM6.5.x platform... our single and last hope would be that Samsung to release an official WM6.5.x ROM for our i780 cousin... the EPIX which shares almost the identical hardware... till then, i guess you need to use the 4 way navigation instead of the mouse and i do think that the 4 way navigation is much better than the mouse

agreed that 3G band is the culprit of battery juice draining so fast...

seems like nothing much to discuss or talk about this phone liao coz it's too stable hahahaha

it's under the Phone > Network settings whereby you need to change the Network Selection from Automatic to Manual... then from the list of Network listed, select the non 3G band... this will route you to the EDGE/GSM band...

Added on May 10, 2010, 11:59 amthe standard battery on this device is a little too small in my opinion but then as mentioned above via some testing is that battery on 3G band with Data connectivity will probably last you 1 day and when on 2G/GSM will last you longer... overall great device and very stable indeed even on custom built ROM...

not too sure about the icon for GSM though... so how's the battery life goes after you switched over to GSM band? is it better? if yes, meaning you successfully on the GSM band and not the 3G band...

will try on my unit to see what icon it will show when switched to GSM band... btw, you're on WM6.1 rom?

I suspect that when you're on GSM band and if you trigger any data connectivity, the icon may turn to either G (GPRS) or E (EDGE)... but then if you still see 3G... then something quite funny...

I've another phone on Celcom line and when i downgrade my line to 2G band, my phone will display EDGE connectivity (this Celcom line is tied up with a BlackBerry device, so it may not be accurate when compared with the i780)...

that link was released by SAMSUNG very long time ago for the Windows Mobile 6.1 Upgrade and not 6.5 upgrade...

Samsung just announced a close replacement to i780... it's the B7350 (OMNIA PRO 4) which has a 320x320 'Touch Screen'!!!... and it will have the WM 6.5.x OS... maybe we can plug it's ROM out and mod it into our i780...
