btw, your compo looks normal to me. keep in my to follow the rules of third when composing your shot. Avoid putting your object at the center of frame.

No I didn't. The close up adapter will only reduce the light and making the DOF further thiner. Definitely not something that I want for this kind of shots.

KL Butterfly Park loh. However I found that the butterflies are getting less. I was told that a new batch of butterflies are arriving this week.

It's nice and sharp. A heavy crop can still show high amount of detail, that's what I like. Cheap? I won't consider it cheap, although it's cheaper than the Tamron SP90, but it's almost the same price as my Sigma APO 70-300mm.

I bought it at RM650. I think it's sold out since I was told that this is the last unit.

Without the adapter, the magnification ratio is only 1:2 right? Just the same as Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro.

Yes. However there are 2 differences to take note:
1. Sigma can use macro at only 200-300mm, so I can hardly shoot at 1/20sec without introducing object blur, without using tripod. With this lens, I can go as low as 1/15 sec without tripod, as long as I can support myself.
2. This lens gives you so much detail compares to the Sigma. You can hardly tell if a photo has been cropped 50% or more because the lens "resolution" is so high. There's a user review in SLRGear stated that the IQ can go par with Nikon 105mm macro if it's stopped down to F8.

Interesting info.
And primes are well known to retain better optics quality compare to zooms too.
