Refer to the links below, could our efforts just in vain?
http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/termncon.asp Please focus on Fair Usage, I've highlight some important point below. Anyone good in law? Maxshit code the Maxis Broadband Fair Usage Policy as supplements to the Maxis Broadband Terms & Conditions and the General Terms and Conditions. 5.2.1 Certain software/applications which is used by a small number of customers to send and receive files containing very large amounts of data (including without limitation traffic from peer-to-peer software/applications (such as Bit Torrent, eDonkey, Gnutella) or file sharing software (such as Limewire)). These activities may cause network congestion and can negatively impact the speed at which other customers can access the internet. 5.2.3 The system that is used to provide the Maxis Broadband service can identify very high bandwidth users and Maxis seeks to manage the customer's usage by throttling their bandwidth to a much lower broadband speed to ensure fairness to all customers. 5.2.5 Maxis reserves the right to release customer information pursuant to any copyright (and/or intellectual property right) infringement if it is required to do so by any law, regulatory body or court of law. 5.3 Excessive Usage 5.3.1 Each customer's total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times. 5.3.2 If a customer wishes to use more than the volume permitted, a written request should be made to Maxis. 5.3.3 Maxis reserves the right to reject the said application or charge for any additional data volume transmitted from what is already allocated. |

Glad to see my name not in the phantom list. Paiseh for having 0 post in LY.net. My reason to join as member is solely to show my grievances on recent Maxis services.
I've started this Maxis BB since Jan07. To be honest, their did provide a good services for past one year. However the nightmare started right after they start the dual-week maintainance viz. to improve the quality of the broadband. But the truth is they started to throttle our speed and narrowing the bandwidth. No point to go in too details since previous few posts had already stated it clear and precisely with what I've experienced. FYI, xunlei is being blocked even the default port is 80. Even during 1am - 6am, my dl speed is fluctuating from 2.6kB to 8kB. Just wondering how to hit the 20GB limit with these kind of dl speed. Just my 2 cents, stopping the service will be the last choice since Screamyx also another "great" ISP. |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Apr 1 2008, 03:50 PM) normally con companies gives u some sweet in the start, to prove that they can actually provide very good service, then promote their product, and u acts as their 'free' promoter.... You're right. They're playing tricks to save budget since they have endless promotion that grab more and more victims. It's time for a wake up call like our political tsunami. after they got enuf customer, then they started to play tricks... just like now, that's why this thread exist Fair policy is their best trick to cover their *ss since they can't cope up with the increasing number of BB user with the limited bandwidth. There is a saying "without a big Head, don't wear such a big Hat" |

Any 1 did experience delay payment for more than 2 or 3 months? Any penalty or termination arising from the delay? Plan to do this from this month onwards. Haha

Should be no penalty if you still within 7 days cooling period. MCMC at least will be our hope to waive the penalty for early termination of the services. Just as usual, gov dept action will take time.
Btw, I'd try few attempts to submit the feedback form but still getting page temporarily unavailable message. Considering to send complaints to the link that Max Ong did suggested above. |

Glad to see MCMC and NCCC show their concern over our frustration here. I believe without any feedback from us and they will be not aware of such big company dares to CON.
Come on, fellows. Gather our force and send email to NCCC's director. I had sent my complaint as well even though my evil contract just left 2months to expire. |
