BBXiong... you are being plain rude by bolding and redding in your reply text... relax bro...why the hell are all of you getting all worked up over this maxis cyber trooper cyclone shit for anyways (furthermore he says he is not one, dun you even read his 2nd reply?) ? anyways, 3.6mbps attracts users that require high speed data connection and not necessary high data throughput (for some people)...this i agree with JASON36 whether he is a maxis cyber trooper or not...

let them advertise all they want lar...it is not like you are going to get conned into getting a 2nd broadband just before they advertise... and if people are smart enough to read all of the rants, complaints, headaches that you guys have posted....watever BS this so called cyber troopers stuff in the forum will not have any effects on them.. right? and not to mention your friends, relatives, families will never get to register for one cause you will strongly go against it i presume?

furthermore...6 pages of rants... WTH!!! is this a rants thread or is this a complain / take action thread??? haven't you guys done enough complaints in the actual WBB thread? come on man... stop collecting information and arguing around as i believe you guys already have more than enough insights and information to screw them all around from what i read around here... this will soon turn from a complain thread into a ranting thread if you guys dun take action on it...

and how many times that you guys need to be told that Maxis will not give a shit about what is being put here... dun expect them to take action from a few complains from small peas like us... go through the proper channel and screw them up properly man...even if they do know that this exists.. they are gonna pretend that it does not exists... they have deniability over this...

if you guys really like to take action...signing a petition will be hard for you guys as you all live in different places... unless you all willing to come out for a petition signing gathering??

here i suggest...

put your full name from IC, IC number, LYN nick, Maxis WBB account number. months registered then someone help compile up the information on day by day bandwidth from several users then submit it up lar (i'll gladly contribute mine to help)... heck i can even send you guys the mail where maxis told me there is a 20GB cap limit set to help you guys out... dun tell me just because this is the beginning of the month and the speed is back up so you guys just gonna sit around till the cap kicks in again? this is not the way to go around this man... and it will never end...

frankly, i am giving them 2 more months to do them jobs and not going to terminate or threaten anything during this period...but, let me help get the ball rolling

and if you can put any proofs of your bandwidth over the past month (during march since it started 14th march), it is highly appreciated... elect someone to compile and get this out to the respective and responsibble party...or let bytefreezer be the leader for you guys since he started this thread...

OMG, I found myself a brave Maxshit Cyber Trooper! Becoz normally they create dummy account and perform hit and run. smile.gif
So, according to your definition, maxshit broadband packages is actually mean: Basic Email Package, Advanced Email Package and Power Email Package? I wonder what type of email that required you to have a 3.6Mbps bandwidth? (<- Edison's video huh?)
And the 20GB bandwidth limit is totally a scam, when they advertising their broadband as unlimited broadband.
Besides, when your speed being capped at 256kbps, you can't even surf and do your so called "email" properly. Open LY.N homepage needs 20secs, and open gmail page needs 22secs, and it's the html version of gmail. Think twice before you starting doing your daily spam. If one or two users complain, maybe it's not the truth. What if 9 out of 10 users complaining? Hehe, and the 10th satisfied user, you all try to guess is who?  cool2.gif

Added on March 30, 2008, 12:13 pmI got an idea today.
Why don't we schedule a sunny Saturday morning and pay our dearest Con-Father, Anaconda Krishnan's Maxshit Tower of Corruption  a warm visit, and try to negotiate to cancel the subscription without penalty. If the negotiation failed, then only we start thinking bout other plans. My suggestion is on 12th April, 2008. Time decide later.
Any one has any suggestion?

dei... working people sometimes send large working files like powerpoints with video and audio links for example, high quality PDFs and maybe a compilation of work files all zipped up OK... they dun only download porn or illegal MP3s like us 24 x 7 OK... so speed is important to them as well as to how fast you can download the latest porno flick off the net...

it's the multimedia age... shit gets transfered over the network whether it is work, fun, gossip or wanking material... so he has his rights of choosing speed over throughput...he might not need 100GBs per month but he might need speed to get all his information for work...

you better notify all the big presses about this and make sure you have enough people to back you up man... cos i think the presses got bored of writing about political shit lately... they want some fresh new news..

Hehe, if this Jason fella really need to send this kind big chunks, he will not being rude and simply say: "Maxis Broadband is not for you heavy duty uses....so get the hell outta the network." Because 20GB is not even enuff for a light user, it's only ~682MB/day. As you said, it's the multimedia age and sites getting heavier, 20GB runs out very fast.
All of us are here in this thread because we are having a common enemy, and not seeing each other as enemy or flaming each other.

To Jason36, you are welcome to join us for fighting against this 20GB limitation and their shitty supports. Shit happens, you will nvr know when you need to dl something big from your client or company via the internet, and found out speed being capped at 256kbps.

To butthead, you constant cares and contributions on this thread are very much appreciated, thank you.

To other forumers, please post your precious opinion here. We are not here for rants, we are here to complain! Let's find out a common solution and move towards it.
*
anyways your calc of 682MB per day is sort of wrong.. they dun stop our connection once we reach 20GBs... the speed is just capped... and 20GBs over 20 working days is about 1GB per day... who receives e-mails and surf net up to 1GB a day... i presume Jason36 is a mobile user who requires the internet on the go type... so i think 20GBs is just right on the edge for him if he is a heavy user (not in the downloading sense)...

i DLed like 55GBs if i did not count wrongly last month with the capping kicked in (about 50 to 60GBs down before capping)... so i think my strategy from now onwards is to surf less during the 1st 20GBs... let my downloads run at as max as possible speed up to 20GBs... i figure at my current speed of about just tipping 5GBs per day.. it should reach in just a bit over 4 days time... so then i can do watever i want then since the speed already sucked.. i can just stop my downloads to browse net and turn it back on again when i don't... not cool... definitely not....

do PM me if you need the mail as proof... i can supply you with the mail from maxis if you feel the need to...

i attach the throughput in text file of my other download PCs network adapter along with this post... hope it helps you guys fight for wat you want...

do ignore the uploaded throughput however... those numbers are not accurate because i transfer the files back to my other pc hence the high upload throughput... the download can minus about close to 50mB or 100mB because during the uploads there are some data packets flowing through both my PCs... you can notice i started since 15th which is 1 day after i know about the capping... and the notice the trend that it suddenly spiked up from 29th of this month... that is when the invoice/bill came in for march and the capping is off...i'll post again in a few days time to see if they really capped us @ 20GBs... if it is less... then there is one more the reason for us to screw them...personally i posed this as oppposed to wat bytefreezer recommended because this shows my throughput in numbers rather than graph form... i have the speed graph too but it is in numbers as well @ 5 secs interval and the text file is awfully huge... dun wan to waste my 20GBs tongue.gif

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Mar 30 2008, 07:20 PM)
i admit i am rude in his reply, as i reply on the way it is(and plus i really have bad mood that day). His statement is already rude enuf (get the hell out of the network??)
another thing that really pissed me off about him is also the same sentence...

if we can actually terminate our account without paying the penalty fee, we have already 'get the hell of the network' long time ago, and this thread will not even exist in the 1st place...
what i wanna tell him, is that use his brain to do some thinking before making a post, instead of a statement like the one i reply..
also, like u said, some business dudes also uses high speed internet to download slides and data files that is quite big from their email. I bet they are also quite pissed off with it, since:
1) if they need such connection for such file, they might as well used up 20GB before end of month, and u know what will happen
2)the high latency of maxisBB makes the page load even slower then wired broadband, even though the wired broadband have slower connection speed( and sometimes it wont even finish loading the site, just half page and stopped there)
3)maxisBB is unstable, as u all know, and if they are using file host to download instead, it will just DC half way, and u have to re download again, even if u can resume back, it would take u some sweet time to reconnect, then half way DC again....

on the above reason, i think that maxisBB is not even suitable for business users, correct me if i am wrong
i am not trying to say that u are wrong, butthead, but i see a lot of users experience this(including me), and also, this is just my opinion

also, butthead, i didnt mean that he is a maxis troop(cos they won call us to 'get the hell out of the network'), just say that don say something that makes himself sounds like
they will say no...
A technician called me regarding my complains about cannot log into online game in email i think in last month . i ask him the same question u asked them, and they say no, then i started bringing out some of my experience on bypassing the ports, and his answer do hint that they are doing something with the ports
*
okay.. i admit... i missed the "so get the hell outta the network.".... but him being rude in the first place does not give you the right to be rude as well... just because he draw first blood does not mean that you should fire back...he should filter his phrase before he posted it that much i admit... but some part of his argument is sort of valid...... anyways... wats said is said.. no point taking it back now...

i dunno about your case with file hosts... i used it before too... it was quite OK for me if my IP does not change during any connection drops or from HSDPA drop to UMTS... which is quite rare.. maybe once or twice a day for me tops... most file hosting sites does not allow resuming if i am not wrong... anyways... the DL will not cause the connection to idle and it will seldom throttle back to UMTS except for the awkward once or twice per day that i mentioned...

images is sometimes a pain in the ass... some of the big images does not load all the way... get stuck halfway and i need to reload the damn page cos reloading the image itself does not work...

wat you said about "i think that maxisBB is not even suitable for business users" if you are talking about using it for a business... yes i agree... but for individuals that are on the move i think it is still quite OK...

prasys,

how did you find out that all ports are blocked? as far as i know.. my office VPN runs on some strange ports as well... .. and it still works as i tried today...

i don means just HSDPA change to UTMS sort of case, for my case, even for today, i DC every 5 mins or so from my MSN, just imagine how unstable is that
*
so your MSN disconnects and not actually you modem connection? the details a bit blurry here... let me test and see if my IM DCs on long idling tonight...

QUOTE(minami_blue @ Mar 31 2008, 12:23 AM)
hi.. a question to ask..
maxis blocked all the ports?
not only p2p traffic?(last time i still can use xunlei in daytime)
our speed slow bcoz they blocked all the ports?
what's the point they blocked all the ports?
then our connection became that sucks?
*
xunlei uses port 80 which is HTTP.. that's why it is one of the major headache's that ISPs face now.... there is no way of blocking Xunlei if i am not wrong... if you block port 80 then you can't browse net...

i have a bandwidth shaper in my office and i can't stop xunlei as well... and i probably will not except dropping all data packets from the xunlei hosts that i know... and that is a whole lot...

Maxis, is ok to accept returns should you hv poor service, they are not that anal about the contract anymore.... Has anyone tried recently?
and looks like the service is better to, I am getting up to 1.2mbs, located in taipan area.
i am unable to post the speed test screen shot it says that the file type is not allowed to be attached...any idea?
*
yeah... next thing when we complain about the 20GB limit.. they will tell us.. we have loosen it mar... we initially put there 3GB in the fair usage policy...now we given you 20GBs.. so we are very flexible already...

the thing is.. this damn fair usage policy is never seen except for 2 places in the maxis wireless broaband section and www.maxis.com.my/maxisbb

5.2.3 The system that is used to provide the Maxis Broadband service can identify very high bandwidth users and Maxis seeks to manage the customer's usage by throttling their bandwidth to a much lower broadband speed to ensure fairness to all customers.

5.3.1 Each customer's total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times.

best is... we were not even told by anyone when we signed up for it.. call us ignorant... but isn't it their job to show us if there are any clauses to registering for it...

Hi there, looks like my comments pissed a few off you guys, well, sorry if it was rude...but to be FAIR, I am a MAXIS user from 2000, mobile as well as the recent USB, no problemo, ALSO I find they have the best, the best customer service, be it in the call center or at the Maxis center, TELL ME which other provider has that? BE HONEST??

Butt-Head, thanks for your inputs, I appreciate your firm but fair standpoint.

A LIITLE BIRD TELLS ME that Maxis is spending a huge load of case this coming months to totally increase their capacity and reach. HUGE.

I am writing this from Rawang. Cheers!

I repeat, if you hv a problem, talk to them, or walk in - YES, I hv seen the all black uniform, COOL !
Its all over the place, I was in Penang last week and the NORTHAM building has a Maxis Center, the manager there was COOL and I spoke tohim about returning by old ZTE for the USB, no questions asked they immediately upgraded me, all I had to do was pay 100 activation fee.

KEEP IT UP MAXIS!

*
anyways... i do hope your sources are accurate... if not... an ugly war is going to break loose and this is not fun..

I just tried to send a feedback to the above link. After I written everything and completed everything and press submit, it replied this to me

'We're sorry, your fault report submission has failed.

Please try again later.

Error Code:
E001

All my written stuff disappeared into the 'black hole' and I have to rewrite completely again, but I now copied it to somewhere first. And i tried a couple of times again. Tak boleh jalan! Really suck!  vmad.gif  mad.gif

i got the "We're Sorry... Please Try Again Later" since about 2 months back...it sucks... just mail to customercare@maxis.com.my... and do it from your maxis mail. Sure they will respond to you.

expect to see sites like rapidshare to be blocked as well. Whats next , block all and give us web surfing. they should define it as maxis narrowband - we'll block all the services for you. Duh , they should have just kept to their 786kbps and 384kbps package cause it was pretty good back then (well better i should say)
*
rapidshare getting blocked? i'd like to see how they accomplish this... if they block access to the page then they will hav to answer to the fury of the users... if they bandwidth shape rapidshare... i sure damn like to know how they do it... cos rapidshare has hundreds of servers to distribute their files...

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Apr 11 2008, 09:12 AM)
i scare later they will say:
'HTTP is also a part of P2P', then we can only surf net on from 1-6am
*
wrong... next time you can only log on to the maxis wireless broadband service for an unlimited amount of time only... note the word log-on ... 24 x 7 with no data flowing through...

QUOTE(andrewlimkn @ Apr 11 2008, 10:38 AM)
No problem bytefreezer (i am also a victim k), at least u take the initiative to gather all the maxis users here and have support.

Chances are even u bring it up to MCMC nothing would really happen. What kind of action can they take? Sue them for a paltry amount compared to what maxis is worth? We all know how Malaysia has become over the years. The govt is at the mercy of these tycoons. And it is coming from the guy who have strong govt connections, owns the country's monopoly of satellites (how can that happen?), lucrative IPP business and gaming licences. Heck maxis is privatised now already, so they dont really care how sentiment affect the company or have any share price to worry about. Well AK probably doesnt even know that its maxis BB service is so crap. If he does, the guy who is heading the wireless broadband operations better buck up or pack his bags real soon

And seriously maxis, if you are reading this, there is no excuse to have such mediocre service in this era when comparative services are better and at the same price. If you cant handle the capacity because of increase of users, either you spend more on capital equipment or give a discount for the lack of quality service. Cost too high for HSPDA service? Then fine, price wireless services at a premium to those who can afford to use it but maintain and uphold your quality. Don't charge at the same price while bullshitting about 'unlimited connectivity' and giving lousy service that irritates people. Are you aware of the opportunity cost and time wasted coz of slow Internet connections?

God Malaysians are not stupid anymore. We used to believe change was near to impossible but it had happened on March 8.

Give them an ultimatum to improve. U need to have mass exodus of people terminating their connection for them and the REAL head to notice. Penalty? heck..worst u will get blacklisted ..just dun use maxis services anymore.
*
u think maxis has no connections with mcmc? and if mcmc does... do you think they want to severe such a connection with one of the biggest and most backed telco in malaysia...

will be happy if we were able to get 27kbps upload in 1998... but not so happy with 7kbps... maybe way back in 1969 when the internet started...
