But but but..

it's an arcade racer... i get bored pretty quickly with arcade racers ..

NFS, Burnout etc etc... meh...

For some reason, i can spend hours on a single track with GT5P... but...

oh well.

Maybe i just prefer simulationss.

I can definately name you one...

Gran Turismo series...

each series, i'll play non-stop until the next one comes out...

Example.. i played GT-4 Almost everyday... for like 1-2 hours a day for 2 years and the reason i stopped because i got my PS3 and gave my PS2 away.

Simulation is based on actual real life physics.. like you need to brake to a certain speed for a turning or else, your car will just miss the corner and bang into the wall...

Arcade is like mindless initial d style of gameplay... I wouldnt say Grid is mindless... it's somewhere between Need For Speed and Gran Turismo.



A good example of Arcade is Burnout series, NFS series, Initial D series etc.

Not many succesful Sims. a few examples like , GT, Forza, some PC sims which i'm not familiar of.

Erm, First i just wanna say ... i had my doubt but bought it anyway.

Impressions...

The cover says

1) Racing In Living World - I dont see any living world.

2) Intelligent AI - More like "hey i cant see you" AI... this game is all about banging each other out of the race. Not because AI is "intelligent". It seems all the paint trading is almost impossible to avoid. You can avoid , but your lap time will be compromised.

3) Driving Physics - oh well.. it's ok, feels pretty much like well.. it's unique. Not quite arcade (i switched all aids off) and not quite simulator...

4) Grid World - Kinda deep... won my first 24 hour Le Mans in Season 2 (GT2 Category) Tons of Driver Offers, and Some neat US , Euro and Japan Series. Including Street Racers, Docks Races, Drifts, Downhill Races etcetc... not bad.

5) Sounds - Ok.. sounds good, but games like GT5 have a clearer sounds and the damn music is god damn annoying... switch it off !

6) Online - Never tried

7) Graphics - disappointing... after playing Grid for a bit... switch back to GT5P, and you'll know what i mean.

What else... hmmm...

Overall... a deserved 8/10 from me.
