I may have found the cause which they may be easing their way in fixing as the holidays are rolling in.
QUOTE(TMNet website) 20/12/2008 SERVICE INTERRUPTION Dear Valued Customers, Telekom Malaysia Berhad wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuits fault on Southeast Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 4 (SMW4) submarine cable network between Palermo (Southern Italy) and Alexandria (Northern Egypt) linking Malaysia to Europe. Due to this, customers using Internet services may now experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in Europe. In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to Europe may also experience some service degradation. To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion. Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, in the restoration process, traffic to Northern America may experience minor degradation while traffic to other countries is not affected. TM expects the complete recovery of its services by December 31, 2008. TM will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works. TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible. Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems. Thank You. |

Should sue them for unnecessary stress. |

Very little improvement. Or, almost no improvement.
![]() But corporate lines are superb. Client's office could get 160 KB/s. |

QUOTE(Aggroboy @ Apr 18 2009, 12:17 PM) The date was only something to be given - a false expectation. When they said April 17, they really mean Friday which means they've Friday, Saturday and Sunday to work on it further. Business tactic to stall time. Which is why now I'm very interested to see if indeed restoration is done by Monday. And supposedly, TM is covering their *ss pretty tight right now. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=25215708 |

And the international connection is still very sluggish.
I wonder if their new T&C is an excuse now to pro-long restoration. ROFL! |

LOL! So is bandwidth finally restored? Or, are they still sipping their coffee?
I'm thinking if I should complain with such speeds even when tested on KL server. ![]() |
