Anybody feel these days the surfing is uber slow? Downloading can be at a reasonable speed, but when browsing, it times out or loads very slowly. Some links like imageshack can take more than 10mins to load a pic.

omg, the internet is dead again after just less than 5mins of restored speed. Networking head: What happened over here just now? Peon: Oh, I accidentally pressed this button earlier and the whole system went down. My senior had to rush over from his house but he was delayed for 1 hour because of the jam. It's all fixed now and he has gone back. Networking head: Ok good. Show me which button caused the downtime? Peon: It was this button. See? *presses* QUOTE(Chee @ Jul 19 2008, 07:34 PM) yeay... the speed is back... but for how long?

QUOTE(Oxigen @ Oct 19 2008, 03:01 AM) already slow, anyone facing frequent disconnection? my phone line suddenly became extra noisy after lat week Satuday's massive thunder-storm could the noisy line become the factor of blinking DSL and frequent disconnection? so far 2 months after obtaining Streamyx, such catastrophe never happens, but this all started after last Satudrday's storm any thoughts?
-cheers- You might want to get telekom to check out your line. I used to suffer from that for almost a year until it got so bad that everytime it rained, my dial tone will be cut off for several hours. Telekom managed to find out that the circuit box outside my house got burned by the lightning and my phone line had to be rerouted to another working one down the road.

QUOTE(dokidoki @ Nov 2 2008, 11:16 AM) damn..dunno what's wrg with tmnut again...sufr half way dc..weird thing is my download is still running..msn connected..but can't surf any website..even local also same..have to restart modem then only can... Yeah, that's exactly what's been happenning recently. I wonder if TMNut detects if there's more than a certain number of simultaneous connections, they throttle/hammer no matter what protocol it is?

Seems like they restored my usual ips around 1am. Wonder what did they "maintain". Edit: Seems like some international sites like imageshack loads slow and sometimes dc halfway now. This post has been edited by NickedAsy: Nov 27 2008, 01:34 AM

One thing I'm wondering is that since the disruption is just to Europe, why are the links to US also affected so heavily? It can take more than 10mins just to open an US based site, unless those are major sites like google, microsoft, blablabla

This morning the speeds were going moderately, and suddenly around 1pm they started throttling like hell to all international sites with 56k speeds beating "broadband". Does tmnet know how to go to hell?
