I could not connect to Streamyx last night from Bayan Lepas, Penang and called their effing customer service which as usual, gave me standard answers. I was told that there are problems in Penang and that they are doing some effing "preventive something something maintenance something something" shit that will affect connections from 7th to 14th July. Also told that "either you will have no connection or slow connection". I told them that "slow connection" is something of a norm whether or not they are doing that preventive shit. Either that or the preventive shit is an endless ongoing thing. They could not confirmed everything will be ok by 14th. They can't confirm when I will be able to connect to the internet again (like I'm going to just sit there and keep trying my luck "in case" I get "slow" connection). Effing idiots.

Anyone else in Penang having problems? I'm now connected in Georgetown area. Sucky connection though.

Seriously F-ed up shit

I could not connect to streamyx last night and called 1-300-88-9515 and was inform that there is an outage in Bayan Lepas, Penang area and that "rectification work is in progress" (so fed up of that line) and that it would continue until today...."until 6" apparently. I asked "6am or 6pm" just to test and the answer "I don't know".

I don't trust the customer service personnel since you can call three in a row and get three different excuses. However, this morning I called again and this time was told that there is indeed an outage in the northern region and 19,000 accounts are affected but (again!) "restoration work is in progress". I asked again how long it would take and the response was that it should last until today but can't confirm until what time.

Anyone else in the northern region having problems. I'm now at work in Georgetown and it's fine here.

Freaking slow here in Bayan Lepas, Penang too ... has been so for the past 3 days. What is the excuse now TMnut??

It's a state of permanence .. this crawling speed.

I had this problem too yesterday evening. Was so worried and kept trying to download updates. I think it took me over 30 minutes before I managed to update.

It's getting worse and worse now ... probably cannot connect at all over the weekend
