compare to u900, the photo didnt turn blur when u review it after you taken the photo, 1 thing i miss tho of all the new tech installed, night mode, how come there is no night mode!? but photo under low light is kinda good, it doesnt have very serius blur tint tht most of the camera phone have in such condition. file size is alot bigger compare to g600, ranging from 0.9mb to 1.6mb so far. face recognition work on 1 face so far, other new tech stuff yet to try.
so, the camera is better then the U900? I was thinking of getting the U900 too, until i saw the G400

i've never used clamshell form factor, so i won't know if it like until i try.
what really got me interested is the 2.2" touch screen on the cover. much bigger then the U900 which i'm also interested to get.

btw, i think this phone is easier to take spyshots since you don't need to flip open the phone, unlike sliders.

i think of all the phones, nokia has the most function with thier symbian OS, SE and moto still pretty much standard, i was tempted to buy SE k850i when it 1st launch since i got jalan for cheap unit, but i gave up the idea once i played with it for 15mins, not much different from my S700i tongue.gif
*
yeah, the SE K850 was a major letdown.

lol, thanks laugh.gif

after lunch actually. was out for some errands, seeing that i've the extra time to kill, so just drop by a phone shop to demo the both G400 and U900 at the same time.

the latest SMS sent to you was using the G400.

oh, the pic was taken with the G400 as well. previously using 9300, no camera, no vibrate.

no boring at all, very fun phone to use. thumbup.gif

I bought it at "premium price", RM1,499 because of easy payment.
other shops quoted RM1380 cash

aiks. ok. anyway memory cards are dirt cheap, so i guess u didnt lose out much especially since u did easy payment.  flex.gif

haha. finger print magnet. yes, welcome to the world of beautiful phones. laugh.gif

even my e71 also finger print magnet. sweat.gif
*
the E71 getting fingerprints? other then the screen and the back, i don't think there's any other gloss surface that attracts fingerprints.

QUOTE(Seaedge @ Nov 14 2008, 06:42 PM)
prepare a microfibre cloth or those pouch that has some kind of cleaning purpose.. hahahah

smile.gif

i got microfiber cloth for polishing cars tongue.gif
a bit rough compared to those for camera lense, but still beats tissue paper.

QUOTE(xtorm @ Nov 14 2008, 06:54 PM)
wow 1380....hmm i tot its going for 1300...hmmm.....

i just clean my friend phone...

and wow there are some kind of swirl line on the chrome, very soft tho, hopefully it wasnt me who did it, i was really carefull (1 of the reason he agree to borrow). erm u guys have such problem?

Added on November 14, 2008, 9:45 pmbtw warranty is now 12months instead of 18months? need rusty to confirm smile.gif

some photo i took

that's what i thought too, especially since i bought the phone in Kepong and not downtown Sungai Wang or LYP.

warranty is 12 months

mini review
likes:
1) camwhore phone - flip open and have the 5MP camera pointing straight at you with a large 2.2" display screen to look at instead of a puny view finder mirror.
2) stealth picture taking - take pictures without flipping open the phone
3) easy picture taking - camera button sticks out of the side
4) improved camera software - finally, it doesn't suck anymore. and I dare say it can rival camera expert SE
5) touch screen! - many many uses, especially in camera mode
6) i like the look of the phone
7) compared to my previous L760, the software in the G400 has improved allot, especially in the SMS department.

things that can be improved:
1) taking pictures difficult in camwhore mode - when the phone is flipped open, the camera button is on the right side. it will benefit lefties, but right handers might need some practice balancing and taking the picture with one hand. i know that you can take picture by pressing the keypad, but it doesn't autofocus. and since i have big fingers, using the keypad to take pics will sometime have my thumb blocking part of the lense.
2) show SMS in the outer screen is MUCH appreciated
3) would be nice if there's touchscreen games like bejeweled
4) free games, so that I wouldn't have to pay RM8 for tetris

that's all i can think off. lots of other features i haven't try yet like movies, music, other built in software.

and since this is my first clamshell, i have yet to find a comfortable way of holding the phone to talk without getting facial grease onto the inner screen.

their reaction will probably: "big ass clamshell" laugh.gif
it's probably optical illusion, but i do find the G400 look bigger then the V3.

I've mapped out the bluetooth function, but to turn it off i still need to navigate the bluetooth menu, not like the K750, which is much simpler.

only the startup greeting was "My maxis", didn't find any maxis wallpaper though.
at the main menu the right [--] button is a globe icon.
unlike the L760 (which i had year ago), where the right [--] button shows "Maxis" word. and comes loaded with maxis wallpaper.

warranty is 12 months.

yesterday I was at LYP to get 4gb memory card and screen protector for my G400, and at the same time survey for latest pricing for G400. Before discount: Rm1350 free 1gb memory (samsung both)
RM1370 free 2gb (VS com)

btw, i can't find screen protector for this phone. asked a few shops, they said it's new, so not out yet.
