So if call her out for shooting, you dun want to join ar?  brows.gif  whistling.gif

honestly, not that i dun want to join or what la... My opinion is, my goals are different, i would like to stick to the same model and work together, improve both my skills and techniques and "her" posing rather than to shoot different girls and stick to the same level of photographing skills.

on the other hand, i find myself loving landscapes and car photography, strobist more than shooting different models. smile.gif It's just me.. no offence to anyone.

I just saw the pricelist update. RM930 for 430EX is a bit steep.
Once again, I want to ask. why choose the 430EX instead of the WAY cheaper Nissin 622 which is RM480 when you only want to use it as slave? The Nissin, AFAIK, also performs the same right? When I was in US and join the local ppl do strobist stuffs, they were (majority) using OLD vivitar flashes with manual control. (but still can control the flash intensity lah)

(later I go dig up the pictures)

I also want to do strobist style shooting lah so that's Y i'm asking.

Actually, now, I'm more towards trying to locate some hotshoe adapters for my 2 other OLD flashes and also get some optical sensor/triggers for the flashes.

Added on March 25, 2008, 9:52 amBTW, shots of GF ah.. No wonder don't want to post since so many buaya darat here ah? Some-more some like TheVOIP is certified MBA holder one.. keke..

(kidding..kidding...)
*
haha.. i dunno.. it's the confidence that you are paying i guess... but my next slave will be sigma flash super. coz i used their flash before, it's good. haha..

haha... not because of there are a lot of buaya.. i just think those are personal shots, not meant to be posted up. LOL...

What confidence? More like $$ being paid.. keke..

So, when wanna have strobist style shooting?? Among all of us, we have many 580 and 430 and 622s which can all be used for strobist effects.

See this LINK --> http://www.flickr.com/photos/danielardiwinata/page2/ for the setups

I won't show you where the resultant pics are. Too Glamour lah the shots of me.. :-) rclxm9.gif

The remote triggers they were using were gotten from ebay.

Was lazy and tired lol, muscle ache from all the weight. sweat.gif Dark ar, i think some are quite overexposed already. sweat.gif
Still pretty harsh even with diffuser. Maybe i should've use the wide flash adapter to diffuse the flash even more (or angled the flash head). doh.gif I use ISO 200.  icon_idea.gif Ah well, live and learn. smile.gif

You direct flash ah?

I see... thanks for the advice. Next time i try angled flash with ISO 800. brows.gif
*
what you need is a lambency or a stofen omnibounce... angle it up... then use the suitable iso and meter the background. Maybe you know the technique, but im just putting it up, just in case for those who doesnt know. smile.gif

Actually the SB-800 already has it's own diffuser similar to Sto-Fen. Lambency bowl ? Is it really that good ? I might consider. How much is it for SB-800 ?
*
You mean the pull out one? it's similar as a diffuser, but not similar as the stofen omnibounce enables the lights coming out from the flash and bounce around when it hits the plastic's surroundings. SO it's like a star shining your subjects. Lambency also acts that way, but it spreads light better than the stofen omnibounce, the con of it is, it's heavy compared to the stofen.
