Hi. Faulty speaker for iphone 3g. Help pls. 1 side on, another side off.

What a shame. You have such a great device and yet you didn't spend time to learn about it.
There's only one speaker in iPhone. The other one is the microphone. Obviously microphone won't make sound.

You can send over for diagnose first. PM me if you are interested. Because I can't tell for sure what went wrong without physically examined and test the component with my test unit. Moreover it's been opened before.

Hi, on the charger, we have to see how bad it is, can't promise a fix.

LCD would have to replace, and yes we can get stock but it's for 12" / 15" Aluminium only. Not titanium.

I'm sorry, the price you asking is too high, and we prefer to COD unless you willing to ship the item over first.

QUOTE(shahbazkhw @ May 16 2010, 01:10 AM)
Hi,

i have a number of problems.

Firstly let me tell you about my machine, i have a unibody late 2008 macbook pro. I have apple care with it and all. I gave my macbook to machines for warranty to fix the speakers, they told me everything is in warranty but when i went to collect my machine they said i need to pay them 1200rm. I said no i wont pay and told them to put back the old parts and i brought the machine back home. now a few months later i started noticing that my keyboard went bonkers. keypresses werent working properly and corresponding keys were referring to the wrong keys. i took my machine to another apple reseller and they told me that my warranty page shows that a top-case was ordered but the part numbers dont match for the top-case that was ordered and the one on my machine.

therefore, i cant claim warranty on that. my charger also went bust.

whats the best thing that should be done? and if i need to pay, how much is the total charge that we're looking at? im estimating that the top-case needs to be changed cus the keyboard for the unibody's are welded on directly onto the case and the charger will obviously need replacing. oh btw im a foreign student here, so im sure the language barrier created a lot of issues with Machines as well.

This is another reason why we always tell customer not to send to resellers for warranty or service, send strait to service center and you would not suffer such issue now. You should call up AppleCare in working hour: 1-800-803-638. Get them open a case for you and please make a formal complain on the problem you had with the retailer.

1) why need to pay RM1200 for under warranty??? What was that quoted for?
2) why they ordered the top case? Did you have keyboard/trackpad/power button issue?Obviously they must have ordered it and put it on some other Mac and charge the other Mac owner for it while the parts is actually FREE claim from your unit! And taking advantage you are not local and might not be in Malaysia for long. By the time you gone and found out about the issue, you most likely won't come back to them. This is not the first time.

Speak to apple and they will get things sorted out for you. This is going out of hand and making other Mac servicing personnels looks bad. Do not pay for anything so long its under warranty if it's not physical damage. Your fault should be under warranty if there's no liquid spill.

Do let me know if you need further assistant, i can provide you my contact.
