TS, more detail le... 800MB of what? is it compressed data or not? if compressed (for example *.avi; *.mp3), there's no other choice than get a 800MB CD or DVD mellow.gif

Document can be compressed. Some game setup files also do. Photos like BMP can be compresssed but not for JPG or GIF. So, the only way to do it is to compress them.

if you are using Nero Start Smart, Overburn is supported..just burn the cd over 700MB..but i don't think that it can burn until 800MB..maybe x < 750MB is alright..

99min = 870mb, iirc
i think its not fake, but u must make sure ur cd-writer support reading/writing 99min cd-r, else it would just recognize the 99mb cd-r as standard cd-r.

and run the overburning test with ur 99mins cd-r.

seriously... the way i see it, when burning a 800MB worth of data (office work + tons of picture) and assuming you will not using DVD media, i rather to burn on 2 CDs instead of using overburning

AFAIK, there's 800MB CD, and even 850MB (IIANM la), i actually bought once the 800MB CD media... for burning 800MB compressed movie wink.gif

actually here is how i do overburning.
1. buy 99mins or 800mb cd-r(of course u can use stardard 80mins/700mb, but thier overburning capability is depend on brand, mostly can only extend to 710mb iirc.)
2. run overburning test by using cd/dvd-speed2000 to get the max overburning capacity support by ur CD/DVD writer, and the media.
3. finally can buring cd/dvd with nero.

last time i successfully write 4 video files, total 771mb to 99mins cd-r(cap ayam brand, its called "melody") with my oem LG cd-writer, nero finish it without any error,
but my cd-writer cant read the 4th video file properly, end of story doh.gif

yup, i check the disc quality with cd-dvd speed after bought it, damaged sector is more than expected, and it use lime color type dye, usually cap ayam branded cd-r will use this kind of dye.(verbatim/mitsubishi usually use blue color dye.)
forget the real manufacture already doh.gif

dvd writer/HDD and the medium now is very cheap liao, dun waste time on how to overburning cd-r/w doh.gif
or u will ended up the same fate as me, since overburn-ed cd-r is not standard cd-r anymore, u can create it but that doesnt mean u can use it without any problem.
