I plan on getting a big NAS storage for my Xbox360 network. So far, the NAS200 by Linksys looks promising. But does anybody know if this will be detected by the Xbox360? I've been searching google and yahoo and some say can, some say can't....... So really not sure.....

Anybody has any clues?

Not sure about Malaysia. Sorry. According to their website, there are no distributors in SG or MY. I bought my TS-209 for about HK$2,250.

http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=83

Unfortunately, Synology still doesn't play well with xbox or ps3. They said they will support this feature in future firmware updates, but until now still no sign.

Yes and No.

First u must know how to install and use linux (firewall, version upgrade, after sales support +.....)

and if we compare both QNAP VS small PC runing linux :

1) Power consumption ( this will show in your TNB electric bill )
in sleeping mode : only 5.1W
in operation mode: only 22.8W vs PC server ( 300W~350W)
so the total save W x 24 hrs x 365 day => $$$$

2) Low Noise Level:
PC : 53dB
QNAP: 26dB
Synology: 26dB

3) support: 24 x 7 online support / Efficient and Spot-on Problem solving ability/ forum and our support center @ low yat plaza lot 4.29 open 7 days a week

4) Ultra-high speed Performance
-QNAP: 33MB/s
- Synology 49MB/s (DS-508)

5) Field Proven Quality

6) Synology wiki-database

7) Extremely active forum
− 29,545 Total Post
− 6,589 Total Topic

8) Synology/QNAP develops all Hardware, Software.
. Up-to-Date Technology enhancement
− Regular software/firmware update with new technology, for FREE!

so, imaging, you had brought DS-106 (2 years ago) and you still can download the new firmware with new feature/technology and all of this is FREE

so, compare with all the new feature and ongoing added feature, QNAP /Synology NAS is value for money.

you are not paying for today what you get but also new feature.
